I'm not a flat earther but this one is simple. Because they're told so.
Here I am, after going to university for 4 years in geosciences, doing ridiculously complex calculations by hand regarding the measurements of the geoid known as, "earth," and there are people who actually believe it's flat.
Like, ya'll are aware that we use curvature every single day to build large scale civil projects like highways, bridges, etc.? It's not some conspiracy: We account for the earth's curvature every single day, and society can't have the things we do without mitigating for that curvature.
Build a long arse bridge from both sides that meets in the middle (like we do), and don't account for curvature and see what happens. I assure you that the flat earthers will start believing when they get to the final section.
It's just unbelievable that this is something that has to be explained or even opined on. It's not an opinion. It just is.

I am typing from a place where sun will set at 10:30pm. No BS.
For those of you near equator, report back when sun sets tonight.
For those of you in southern hemisphere, report back when sun sets for you.
May the Flat Earthers explain the comparisons and contrasts between the times.

This might be more about Space or the way the earth land mass really looks… but how many people have actually been to space/ orbited the earth and saw with their own eyes.
Has anyone on this forum? Does anyone know anyone who has? I don’t.
Why would they lie? I don’t know… why does the people in power lie about anything..

Do you frequent with people who are more or less like yourself? A lot or a little.
My life’s experience says more often than not people take the shape of their container. Their thoughts are shaped here.

It is primarily driven by the thought that everyone in a position of power is lying to us...about everything. It stems from an IRRATIONAL distrust of all things government. Don't get me wrong, a RATIONAL distrust of government is good. For flat-earthers, the science is secondary to the feeling of distrust.

Those last two were from the King James Version and I took the liberty to bold the words normally translated as “circle” and sometimes “compass” in English. It’s a Hebrew word that means a two dimensional circle, not a sphere. So if the solid firmament meets the face of the earth in a circular shape, that means the earth is a flat disk and the firmament above which is solid as a molten looking glass and made of crystal is a dome shape - like an upside down bowl.

The reason the sky looks blue is because you are looking through the crystalline firmament into the waters of heaven. If God would have meant something different, he would have told us in his perfect book.

I don't think ANYONE SERIOUSLY believes the earth is flat. Nobody. There literally cannot be ANYONE that stupid... they are just playing a game by saying they believe the earth is flat. They have to be, right?
Edit... except for those that misinterpret Scripture. They are both misguided AND apparently stupid.
