If teachers didn't have to waste time teaching your kids manners, social skills, and other basic life skills that in the past parents were responsible, teachers may have more time to focus on education.

Why the hell do I have to pay property taxes to pay for someone else's kids to got to school. I want to be exempt... Government already subsidizes children. That is the effing problem. You have kids you pay for the cost of education. I don't expect for anyone to pay for my dog's training and he is smarter than most of your kids.

Seriously, as soon, or even before, they can walk you pack them up and send them to daycare. Then, you sign em up for whatever idiotic local youth sport is currently accepting 3 year olds. You make sure they participate in any group activities that will take them. Then you throw em in pre-school. All of that before you can finally ship em off to a government-subsidized daycare until they are 18. All of that so you don't have to raise them. Alot of people use "education" and other avenues as babysitters and expect them to raise their damn kids. Then, they come on a message board to bitch about how bad of a job they are doing. You're a parent. It is your responsibility to raise your child, to teach them right from wrong, to teach them self respect and respect for authority and elders. It is your responsibility to make sure they don't grow up to be some ignorant shite suckling at government's tit. Quit passing the buck and do your job!

You are a fricking dumbass!! My wife teaches and has had up to 6 kids in our house at a time due to daycare closures. She watches our friends kids. All while doing staff development virtually and trying to figure out what is going to happen in the fall.

How about you fix your own shitty kid's problem so the teachers can actually teach and not have to babysit all day?

Nobody is telling teachers to do that though and you're kinda proving my point. Also, don't act like all kids in school are shitheads with no manners.

The OT’s weird hatred of teachers continues. Yeah blame the teacher for your kids behavior and not yourself the parent.

Those 2 or 3 shite heads per class require extra attention and distract the other kids from getting a good education. Discipline the shite heads, then have the parents bitching about their little shite heads getting in trouble instead of them disciplining them. Shitty job to have, and I wouldn’t last a day.

I've seen married families who spend more on daycare than one of them makes just to have someone else raise their kid.

My mother was always at home, and I made sure my wife could stay home and be there fr my kids.It wasn't always easy, but my children came first.

For 90% of teachers, teaching is just something to bridge gap between college and popping out a couple kids. Should be paid less imo

When their parents start teaching them the importance of education. Education begins in the home, buddy!

Funny. I haven’t heard the first teacher voice concern about the academic deficit created by the March 2020 school closures.

Teachers are the equivalent “facility maintenance” workers in state government. They are inherently lazy and and self aggrandizing. They have an inflated opinion of self worth and are as disingenuous as any higher paid public official in the bureaucracy. We would be better served by a smaller group of virtual instructors than the masses of educators we currently fund.

I was not on vacation since March. Since the end of May, yes. I don’t feel bad about that considering my pay for my 10 months of work is stretched out over 12 months. So no, I’m not paid for “doing nothing”. We are not off for 3 months like people claim. Most may take June easy and in July back to work to prepare for the year. Our curriculum changes pretty much every year.

I kindly invite you to come do my job for one day. One hour. I teach young children to write five paragraph essays. A handful in each class are well below reading level, 8 have accommodations you must meet constantly and two of those didn’t take their medicine today. There are interruptions, five stayed up late and keep falling asleep, and one cursed me out and threw a desk at me because I asked him to do his work. Now the other 29 in the class are supposed to focus on their work after this scene. Repeat this four more times. On your “break” meet with parents, plan the next day and grade 120 assignments. Work into the evening and night just to hear that teachers have it easy.
