Thankfully my fiancee and I don't loiter. We appreciate the sites but you can only stare at 1,000 year old brick for so long, even though I enjoy history immensely

Book your flights and worry about the rest when you get there. That's what we did last year. Had a general plan, but didn't really stick to it. We pricelined it across Gertmany, Austria, and Italy.

Dude, there is nothing wrong with the Aegean islands. Plus, Greece has always been shitty. This isn't a new phenomenon

London is incredible. Amsterdam is really pretty and an interesting city. It's not all about smoking weed, although smoking and then going to the Rijksmuseum is awesome

Never been to Stockholm or Copenhagen but I have been to Norway and those Scandanavian countries are top notch. Never seen so many beautiful women

I would rank all of the cities I visited in Europe as follows:

Sorento 6/10, pretty, but didn't get to explore much due to limited time. Definitely don't miss Pompei though, that's a 10/10 attraction.

Capri 7/10, expensive but gorgeous. Simply breathtaking, but doable in a day

Rome 8/10 a little dirty, but fun and filled with can't miss sites. Would go again (been twice)

Pisa 4/10 there's nothing to do here other than see the leaning Tower. It's cool to stop there and see for an hour, but then it's good to get back on the bus and drive on to Florence. It's like stopping to see the world's largest ball of yarn on the way to Disney World

Florence 9/10 This city rocks. i wish I could have gotten more time there. The architecture, people, museums, history, food, festivals, it's just the tits.

Venice 7/10 Breathtakingly beautiful, but expensive and can be done in a day.

Athens 7.5/10 It's really dirty, like Mexico dirty. The women are way uglier than you ever would have guessed as well. However, the acropolis and the State Archaeological museum (home of King Agamemnon's gold and the Antikythera mechanism) are must sees.

Mykonos 8/10 cool little island beach town. It's basically the Key West of the Aegean. Seems like a great place to get drunk and watch the sunset. Reasonable prices for an island.

Patmos 4/10 Tourist trap and not a good one. It's small, not as pretty as many other greek islands, and its only claim to fame is a little cave shrine where John of Patmos wrote "The Book of Revelations". Skip it unless you're a doomsday prepper.

Rhodes 9/10 Badass island. Where else do you get clear blue waters, a non-touristy nude beach, a medieval town complete with badass castle, and a massive greek temple? No where. Definitely had the coolest castle I got to visit anywhere in Europe.

Innsbruk 7/10 I'm sure this one would be much better now that I can go out and drink. The place was pretty, but the little area I got to see was very touristy. I've heard good things so I'd love to back and see it now.

Lucern 9/10 Absolutely beautiful medieval swiss town surrounded by mountains along a clear lake. Going to the top of Nearby Mt Titless was the tits despite the name.

Paris 6/10 had a bad experience. Got lost, people were rude and mean, everything was closed one of the two days we were there, just a disaster. That being said, there are so many sites to see and the view from the top of the Eiffel tower is worth the trip by itself. Don't go if you don't know any French.

London 9.5/10 Outstanding city. Convenient mass transit, tons of historical sites, tons to do, very walkable, and lots of nearby excursions reachable by rail. Simply everything you want in a city. The only thing that holds it back is the weather.

*Disclaimer: I was traveling with my mother to all of those places and I was underage.

Ehh I haven't been there. But it was during their big unrest and that's why we skipped it. We had a great time in Malta, which was pretty impoverished. I'd go.

my wife and I are at the point where we don't even bother to visit historical spots (if they cost money). we just will do a museum or two, then hang out in parks and try to chat ppl up.

THIS. Numerous dimes frolicking in the water for your viewing pleasure. There is nothing wrong with the Greek islands, don't be afraid to visit them.

I'd rather have a super-busy entire day and see everything we can, then have an entire day of downtime. Especially overseas.

Spent 3 weeks here. By the end I didn't have to pay to get into any of the clubs. We were the Americans dropping cash and knew everybody. A guy from New Jersey was working as a bouncer at one bar.

I have a buddy who may disagree about Patmos. I wasn't there (went to Istanbul), but they got atop 3 level wasted and all kinds of bad stuff happened

we only have downtime days when we get to travel for more than 3 weeks. We will stay busy the entire day, but try to get a feel for the city/country more than to see a 1000 year old brick, and paying a fortune for the honor. We really like to go bird watching in city parks (NERD).

we are pretty much off europe though. I don't us going back anytime soon, outside of turkey (is that really europe?). we like countries where you walk outside and go - i am not in america. And europe feels very american these days.

plus i prefer a vacation where I live like a king for less than I would spend in the US vs. europe where i spend like a king and live less than what I would live like here.

but pretty much my entire life is built around figuring how to take long vacations.

On my phone so not going to make a long post for now.

In short, don't listen to people that say you can't see a ton of cities in a short amount of time. It all depends on your approach and what you enjoy. I went to ten cities in seventeen days in four countries last summer and it was not a problem. Logistically, you have to be a master planner I don't regret it one bit. You should pick different cities if you want to see a lot though. Yours are a geographic mess to manage.

I get that, but there are still great cities in Europe that are great for walking and are not Americanized and are super cheap. Croatia and Montenegro are having unprecedented tourism for that very reason.

Never been to Europe, so I can't contribute much. One thing I have been told many times by people that have though, is that Eastern European women are some of the hottest in the world. Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech, etc.

And it's cheap as shite to travel around that part of Europe. Your money goes a lot further.

Turkey is great for that and safer. There was a guy at the bazaar in Kushadasi (near ancient Ephesus) who was shouting "Genuine fake watches! Get your genuine fake watches!"

14 days leaves comfortable room for about 4 places, 5 if you want to push it.

I'd say do Prague/Vienna/Budapest for 9 days and hop a RyanAir flight for Berlin or Munich then train it to the other place for your flight home. Check flights to see whether Berlin or Munich is cheaper to fly back from.

I'd save Venice for an all-Italy vacation, just from personal experience. If you rush it, you won't like it. Spain/France are just hard to get to if you're doing a lot of time eastern Europe.

Tough to prioritize the places I've been, but here's a shot:

Level 1
Munich
Vernazza (Cinque Terre/Italian Riviera)
Murren, Switzerland (south of Interlaken)
Hallstatt, Austria

Level 2
Bacharach, Germany (Rhine valley)
Rothenburg, Germany
Salzburg
Amsterdam
Paris
London

Level 3
Venice
Rome
(didn't spend enough time at either of these places, was rushed so just didn't enjoy it)
