I really like the look of the GV 80 coupe. Not in the market for a new ride currently, but if I was, that would be a strong consideration.

Perfect. That's probably what she's looking for. Thanks for the info.

Be smart, get her a Camry or Accord instead.

Be smart, a sedan and SUV are two totally different vehicles.

Oh and she currently has an Accord.

Look at Mazda's CX-90 PHEV. 26 Miles of plug in range and gasoline hybrid engine when that runs out. Best of both worlds. Their Premium plus trim level would be in the same price range.

My Genesis started giving me a lot of electrical issues at about 80k miles. I had to get rid of it.

I'm biased against Kia and Hyundai just because I remember when they first came out...If Yugo came out with a luxury brand, I sure ain't buying that mfer eiher.

We have a 2023 GV80 with 50k miles on it. Wife's favorite car ever and we are big fans of it.

The Lexus dealerships in Texas provide "white glove" service. Go for an oil change and you get a loaner. Go for service and you may have a loaner for weeks. They do everything they can to keep the car in tip-top shape without any more nickle and diming than any other dealership. You get your car back washed and vacuumed too. A Genesis is sold and serviced by the Hyundai dealer so you get average service

Genesis comes and picks up my wifes car, takes it to the dealer and services it, then returns it. Leaving the car for us to use that they rode over in.

If she's a 10, you shouldn't be buying her a Genesis

I bet they have pretty good safety ratings considering tiger woods drive one off a cliff and walked away from it

This is pretty much the thread. Most people who shite on modern Kia/ Hyundai made up their opinion 20 years ago and haven't touched once since or if ever.

I would get a Genesis > other brands like BMW, Mercedes, etc. Maintenance/ parts will still come out cheaper and the quality is just as good.

Seriously

I assume you drive a Ford/ Chevy? There's alot more "poor" people buying trucks to appear rich than a Genesis. Old Lexus/ BMW are killing it in that market. Poor people who want to act rich by old BMWs/ Lexus. The group you are refrencing is called the middle class.

I know people who bought a BMW/ Lexus for double the price of a Hyundai/ Kia and they usually seem disappointed when they realize how much extra they paid for similar quality.

To each their own, my In-laws have owned Genesis/Hyundai for their last 3 cars/SUVs. They have come a long way but they are not up to Lexus/Mercedes quality of the cars I have personally owned. All 3 of their cars have had issues, but does have a 10yr warranty, thankfully.

Thank you for an honest and fair opinion. Lexus/ Mercedes have an edge in quality but is it worth a 10k-20k difference or more? The gap is closing and they have come a long way.
