The epidemic curve doesn't turn on a dime - hospitals overrun today won't be not over-run tomorrow if we just flip some magic switch.
How is this still lost on you?
Hospitals in Georgia were never overrun.

He needs to go on Reddit. Any comment not "we will all fricking die" gets shamed into oblivion on the Austin sub.
Anytime you point out that the Easter bump they all yelled for a week would happen didn't happen or any other bump from people being out at parks and the water like crazy didn't happen, you'll get a hundred downvotes really fast.

That is happening on every Reddit sub. They think millions of bodies will be piled in the streets.

They're all shitting on Abbott and the decision to re open. They don't like when you point out that our hospitals have not come close to 25% capacity much less approaching being overrun.
Decisions should be made on up to date data not worse case scenario from February/early March.

We’re still two weeks behind Italy!!!
If you ask when is reasonable for us to open these people have no idea other than saying “I follow the science”

Amen.
Reddit has pretty much lost it across all subs. It’s been kinda wild to watch in real time. It makes the bickering on the OT look like absolutely nothing

Try half a million or so.
In line with 5% or so positive antibody tests in Nor Cal and Southern California etc

Why is anyone surprised at this? People stayed home for a week, and then started flooding walmarts and home depots. Lowe's and Home Depot have both seen massive growth in sales, country wide, since this started. It's common sense.
That’s not why we see and have seen a spike. In Georgia (like Louisiana), they were given hundreds of thousands more tests. So they’re not as selective of who they test now. When you give out four times the amount of tests that you have been giving, of course you’re gonna see a spike! It’s not like for like. The people who are testing positive today were told last week that they wouldn’t be tested. And those same people would have had the virus with or without the test.

That's why it's important to monitor hospitalization and ventilator rates as well. If you see 2 weeks of increased positive tests but never see the spike in hospitalizations, nothing really changed, you've just confirmed cases that went unconfirmed before.

NYC where they pack people in those moving tubes underground?
Hospitals are closing down elsewhere in the nation!

No, we're not going back.
Everyone knows this is the Atlanta 'people' trying to scare everyone into showing the governor he was wrong. He wasn't. They can manipulate the numbers at will. We know this now and don't trust them. Our hospitals aren't full and more people than usual aren't really dying. So let's get this over with.
You can always count on the left to play on peoples fears. We all knew this was coming. Will it stop your governor?? Your governor is an idiot, so he is following the leftist, destroy the country with any means tactic. All he cares about is orange man bad.

Kemp is an idiot. Just forcing people off unemployment. Doesn’t matter what party you belong to in Georgia. Both sides think he is an idiot. Both want him out after one term.

Meh
Get rid of Atlanta metro and it’s not that bad

How is he an idiot?
Are more people going to be exposed to the virus with everything being open vs having select businesses shut down?
If so tell me how many and just how that will happen.
Be sure to show your work.

the "spike" in cases/deaths the second time around should be lower than the first time around anyway.
You're going to be shocked when you learn about the 1918 pandemic and the second-wave deaths compared to first-wave deaths. Shocked.

There is no reason to believe that the Georgia hospitals are going to be overrun because the "stay-at-home" was lifted. None.
Except for math and science, sure, no other reasons.
