You have it more correct than most responding here if anyone cares to look at the Treasury departments definition of fair market value.
The fair market value of a unit of labor wouod be determined by buyers and sellers who aren't under any kind of compulsion. That would necessitate a person having their basic needs met and then they can choose to sell or use their time / labor generate income and inflate their quality of life through whatever means they see fit.

When my state started rejecting the stimulus unemployment, the “help wanted” signs disappeared.

Are you a business owner? If not then shut the frick up.

This is the worst take I have ever seen on this board in any forum. Congrats I guess.

Free market my arse. The government handouts have interfered with the free market. Retarded take.

Yes, and my life is ruined because the government isn’t letting me eploit others’ labor as much as I used to.

I don’t believe you are a business owner, but I do believe you are a liar.
Posted on 8/20/21 at 10:37 pm to Jon Ham
Clearly you’re not. If you were you’d understand the actual situation. Small businesses are the heart of this country whether your pussy arse wants to admit it or not.

I also do strongly suspect your life is ruined as you say, but not because of the government but because of yourself.

The market chose to have a minimum wage.
Did it? I’d swear federal minimum wage laws were…federal. And laws. Not much choice in that, no? And I’ll bet the market wasn’t asked what that
Minimum should be. Just that there should be one.

1. Gov't paying people not to work isn't a free market.
2. Business owners didn't decide for the gov't to pay peole not to work. It's literally someone else's fault.
3. A business owner flipping burgers fills 1 spot. They need more than one spot because the Govt Paying peole not to work
In summary, the government is paying ppl not to work.

You cannot be this dumb, and if this isn't a troll, I'm not sure you can be helped. It's no longer a "free market" if the government is paying people to sit at home via unemployment checks, stimulus checks, and an eviction moratorium. And I can 100% assure you that business owners are "flipping the burgers" so to speak.

It’s not a free market when the government mandates suffocating restrictions on businesses then pays people to stay home and allows them not to pay rent.
I’ll take it a step further and say the government is taking money by force FROM business owners and other producers to give people not to work.
That’s not the free market in any way shape or form.
I’m not opposed to minimum wage or some form of welfare on hard times, but it has to be finite.
Personally I’d say that upon turning 18, you’re given 12 months of unemployment for the rest of your life. You can draw from the pool at any point, but once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Opie does not source the article, but it is obviously written by somebody who has a PHD and has never actually worked in a small business in their entire life
