You have to be able to stab him.

Run up to him when he sees you and stab him. If you do not hit him and hit him lethally when he grabs you or anyone else he will strangle you to death and there’s nothing you can do about it.

This is all so fricking stupid.

What metrics are we using to judge the best warrior? Are they all using the weapons of their time? Is it unarmed? Is it in a ring? Do the cavalry guys get to use horses?

Jon Jones versus any armed combatant just dies. He throws a kick and loses a foot against an armored knight.

Any ancient warrior loses to a barely trained grunt with a .45.

So, at this point, just say your favorite badass.

I could Theogenes of Thasos or Milo of Croton would frick Jones up, but why?

Just say your favorite badass and don't compare him to others.

They are all...pretty badass.

But...an emperor is still an emperor even without the title.

The title didn't even exist yet when Julius Caesar was at his zenith. About the closest he came was when he was declared dictator perpetuo by the Senate in February of 44 BC. He was assassinated one month later. Octavian is seen as the first Roman emperor because he ruled for over 40 years and consolidated power within himself while maintaining the illusion that ultimate power still resided with the Senate.

Good call. Lead his men from the front.

I forgot the exact quote but he was storming a fort and leading. A soldier following him said,

“There he goes and say ‘follow me’ instead of ‘get in there’.

Wounded at least twice.

Lucius Cornelius Sulla.

Won a Grass Crown. Caesar only won a Silver Crown.

Where’s King David? Saul has killed his thousands and David his tens of thousands. Before he was king, he went and fought as a mercenary for the Philistines

calling Joan of Arc a warrior seems to be kind of a stretch

Joan of Arc was listed at #10. How much hand-to-hand did she do? Or fighting of any kind? I think she just rode around with a flag or something.

Yeah, but pussy is undefeated.

Honorable mention: Barron Davis
When the Warriors weren't that good, I've seen him make a three to send a game to OT, then score 18 points in OT to get the win on the road.

This is a fair point.

However, she did show up at the Dauphin's hideaway and said: "God told me that I am to lead your army to lift the siege of Orleans and see you crowned king in hostile territory at the city of Reims," before doing all of that. Not only that, while she didn't physically swing her sword at anyone - she did lead from the front and got shot with an arrow twice.
