And/or these companies know people are paying more for other things and will pay more for their product because they are hooked on things like this.

Yup. I think I read somewhere once that sugar addiction can be as bad as cocaine. So, sugar's as bad as booger sugar.

I could be wrong but I don’t think many soft drinks use actual sugar any longer. I know Coca-Cola doesn’t. They substituted it with high fructose corn syrup long ago. But it’s no better for you and I’ve heard it’s actually worse.

High Fructose Corn Syrup is a sweet poison in modern society.

It's In EVERYTHING

Greedflation.

The overall costs of the raw materials has slowed to about a 1% increase over the last 6 months but the consumer is still getting nailed. Inflated prices never go down once producers realize that their bottom lines are not impacted at all by inflation.

It just becomes the new normal

noticed that coke, Mountain Dew, etc are $9.99 for a 12 pack.

Seems like this would be a sign to quit drinking that poison? I don't see how people on here suck back multiple soft drinks of any kind every day.

Beer is also way too high. A 6 pack of Miller lite/Coors light is $11.00 by me ($10.49 on the shelf)

The craft beers are $14-16 for a 6 pack.

Sticking with liquor for a while.

Kroger ad shows 6 pack Coca-Cola and Pepsi products on sale right now for 4/$12.00.

Walgreens has 12 packs at 3 for 14.99.

Soda prices are outrageous. They took advantage of the pandemic and this is just the new price. I don’t drink as much as I used to but they still probably make more money because they raised the price so much.

But inflation is coming down people

People always say things like this, but when the government talks about inflation going down, they are talking about the rate of change. They never mean prices are going back. This isn’t new but it does allow them to conveniently not talk about the inflation they created.

At Winn Dixie, yes, and I’ll usually grab several on sale. This week I bought Duncan Donuts brand to try bc it was on sale and Community was at regular price. You’d think coffee would be cheap in general.

It’s better to go without that crud. Allow the price jump to work as a blessing-in-disguise.

Those squeeze bottle water enhancers are good. Plus, you end up drinking way more water.

Win all around.

I’ve definitely noticed, and I’ve made DAMN sure that my family knows, too. If they’re not on sale (and I mean 3 or 4 for $12 range), I don’t buy them.

I’ll keep them in the house, but when I start pouring out half full drinks, no mas.

Can usually find coke products on sale at one of the grocers for 3 12 packs for $15 or so. Sometime it’s buy 2 or buy 3 get one free.
