The climate is always changing. The fraud part is killing our economy in the naive assumption we can make an impact on the climate.

People are so stupid they were convinced the people resisting lockdowns and masks were the dumb ones.

Depends on where you live, I guess. Some countries aren’t blessed with fossil fuels and can easily be cut off by the belligerent country who provides for them. If those countries wanted energy independence they’d have to do it “green.”

Transforming a world oil & gas energy system, deeply entangled in global and local markets, to renewables is not a simple or short term task.

That is what is exposed.

It's also an impossible task without nuclear power. Solar/wind/hydro will *never* be sufficient to power a stable grid.

That is such an irreverant notion to compare the evil that happened on 9/11 to weather conditions over which we have no control. These three should be shouted down until they retreat back into their holes.....

The maniac left would render America completely defenseless if they had their way.

Fighter jets don't run off of lithium, you dolts.

Does it really hurt Tesla? You need energy to run his cars and right now the best source of fuel to generate that energy comes oil and gas.

not to mention petrochemicals used in the manufacture of Tesla cars (and pretty much everything else in the world these days)

We can make an impact. It’s thought processes like this that inhibit our ability to. The greenhouse gas effect is real, it is okay to understand that we have put more CO2 into the atmosphere than ever before in human history. We can limit our emissions as a civilization with the right measures. Is the current administration doing it correctly? No. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make an impact. Unless you want to disagree with people way smarter than you and I?

Nuclear, Solar, Wind, Geothermal and Hydro are the future. A huge emphasis should be on nuclear to replace fossil fuels.

Exactly. Musk is a smart guy. He knows people will take him more seriously if they believe he will be "hurt" by supporting the oil and gas industry.

Who thought it would be simple or a short term task? They push so hard because they know it will take a long time.

He's always believed in distributed and diversification of generation type and location. It's why there are entire divisions of Tesla dedicated to home and grid sale energy.

Or it's the exact opposite and shows how much oil dependence exists and why increasing green energy to reduce oil dependence could be important.

Everyone who pushes a “net zero” concept, proposes shutting down power plants, etc.

Yes, it will take a long time, but they are “acting” over a short time frame. The mindset is largely due to the “apocalypse” views pushed by global warming alarmists.

How can you act on a reasonable timeframe when the world will end in “12 years”?

This whole concept should be gradual.

If it is the best option, it will become the primary choice to consumers.

Instead, nation states are ramming through draconian green initiatives at light speed.

The actions are not rational.

BUT, i think we can both agree that instead of the government step in with forced policies, regulations, and mandates, you simply get out of the way and let free market capitalism lead on the innovation front.

instead you get some of the dumbest people on politics championing the cause which does nothing
