If God is all-powerful and loving, why does evil (like war, abuse, or child suffering) continue?

Why would God intervene in some biblical events but seem silent today?

How does God feel when he is watching small children get raped by evil stepfathers?

Humans chose to sin and allow sin to taint the world with suffering. By choosing to sin we were seperated from our loving God, but God sent his Son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sin. All we have to do is believe on his name. By faith we are redeemed and will be in heaven with Him for all eternity, which was His plan for us at the beginning. God gives us a choice. Without choice, love cannot exist.

I obviously have no issue engaging in “religion” threads, but I don’t know that this is necessary on a simple celebration thread

We went to the Vigil Mass last night. The ministry at our parish that sets everything up for masses did a wonderful job. We had 5 baptisms as well. Beautiful.

Our Vigil Mass was a long one. 14 adult baptisms and 57 confirmations. The music, as always, was glorious.

Seems like you don’t believe in a very edgy and sophomoric way. Congratulations, you have the perspective of a teenager.

I see miracles everyday even if the face of tragedy caused by the frailties of free will.
