But, how do you tuck in shirts with so little shirt to tuck like in the bottom left?

Bottom left has loose pants. You want about 4 inches past your waist line. If it hangs below your balls, it's too long.

4 inches is too long. 4 inches is shirt on far right.

Shirt on left is 1-1.5 inches below waistline at the high parts on the side.

if your body proportions are weird a slim fit shirt may not help length

I buy slim fit no wrinkle shirts that fits by body fine but are too long. I am not really tall and my shoulders/neck are disproportionately large compared to my waist. So your measurements may lead you to a shirt that assumes you are a certain height whether taller or shorter

only option was the shirt stays

You definitely need to buy slimmer fitting shirts if this is an issue you're experiencing.

You leave your pants unzipped & unbuckled before tucking right?

tuck your shirt in your underwear .... the elastic keeps it from getting untucked

Maybe my shirts are always too big for me

I feel like most guys wear shirts that are too big for them. The god awful long tails on most shirts are going to make them look shitty, even when tucked in.

I am 6-5 205 and I buy Milano fit Brooks Brothers Sport Shirts in XL. Sleeve length is perfect and isn't billowy around the waist. Do the 3 for $229 deal and they last forever. They are also having a sale starting this Thursday for 25% off if you are a card member.

This is fairly thin.

Stop buying shirts sized S, M, L, XL, etc. and start buying shirts that are sized to your neck and sleeve length.

If you're talking about formal wear men's warehouse has these strips they put inside your pants that hold your shirt down when you get your pants tailored. They work alright.

I got measured once and the shirt the guy gave me was bullshite. Shirt was wayyy too big. Tails went down half way between butt and knees.

I do this:

Pull pants up unzipped to the middle of your thighs. Start with the back of the shirt first... do a reverse pleat on both sides. In other words, pull each side in the back to the middle until it's snug to your torso/back. Fold the excess out. Smooth the two pleats down. Hold the shirt in the back w one hand and with the other, pull pants up. Tuck front in. Zip and button up. Unzip and reach through the slot to pull down on the shirt which takes all slack out. Zip up. Belt up. Pull on the pleats in the back gently just to make sure the back is perfectly straight. Takes only a minute and will look better than ever before.
