Gotta make antibodies to get herd immunity fool, there is no evidence that recovered patients have made them

Japan and South Korea seem to have had a little bit of success with masks

Those people do what they are told without question. I know a girl in Japan that has not left her house since March, for anything, and is still terrified to do so.

If herd immunity isn't going to happen, then the only option is herd culling.

Hell yeah! Let's ban tobacco products, alcohol, foods/beverages with excess sugar, and cars too. I will not be satisfied until we stop allowing people to die when it could have been prevented. All we have to do is stop being so selfish and start acting like decent human beings. What is wrong with people?

Well, I mean that's kind of what the virus has been doing all along.

Exactly.

When you take his argument to the logical extreme, as usual, it falls apart.

This is the same idiot that would gladly legalize ever drug under the sun, but hey, ya'll better wear DEM masks because people who were soon going to die anyway are dying anyway!!!

You (and many idiots like you) dismiss the scientific method entirely because it does not produce omniscience instantly. You dismiss those who are actually studying the virus because they don't have omniscience now. And what do people like you recommend? Exactly what we do know is likely to compound and worsen the situation, because you don't study any data or account for any knowledge.

This is spot on. People should separate politicians saying they are "listening to science" and actual scientific research taking place.

I was listening to the Science Vs podcast and it was stated there are over 1000 clinical trials on going for different treatment methods.

Herd immunity is only as good as the length of the antibodies. Now, they are saying that’s not long. So your herd immunity claim may not work. Want to debate it? Show me the science on the antibodies and change my mind.

Yeah, I know a nurse who got pretty sick in March and tested positive for the virus. Her state has been doing antibody testing on them, and she no longer has any detectable antibodies. Less than 4 months. That's also not promising for the effectiveness of a vaccine, either.

Humanity has also never created a vaccine for a novel coronavirus. Never. Not saying it can't be done, but it's not like they have previous blueprints to follow.

Yep. On a couple million or so cases before that happens! Mississippi health department just had to correct this ridiculousness.

Mississippi currently at about 40,000 infections

Let’s add 100,000 cases for those currently infected or previously infected, who haven’t been tested.

At least 60% would need to be infected before the idea of herd immunity comes into play.

Population is around 3 million.

Do the math...

Better than herd immunity?

How about some accurate reporting of data, deaths, etc?

How about we hold the cdc responsible for their incompetence? They can't even acknowledge the extremely high false positive rates of the testing. Everyhting just gets lumped into COVID. Geez, wonder why we have so few cases of pneumonia this year.

Want to know how this is not about your health?

1.5 million die of TB per year. What if the entire world came together and actually did something for those individuals?

9-10 million people die each year bc of STARVATION. No fricking vaccine needed for that... no god damn antibodies needed for that... What if the entire world came together and tackled that issue? 6 million kids dies EVERY frickING YEAR bc of STARVATION!!

frick your masks! It is not about your health. But but but, you are gonna infect me, whaa whaa... Go to Canes and get you a couple of tailgate specials.

Most people live in a bubble and are unable to provide for their own families in extreme situations, so stop trying to give the rest of us advice.

One could argue that its relative mild virulence is canceled out by how easily it's spread.

If you're a disease and you want to kill people, the first quality you'd want to have is to be able to be spread amongst a huge swath of people. On the other hand, diseases that kill people in 10 days aren't actually that dangerous to the masses because they usually very easy to detect by way of severe symptoms and they don't have the opportunity to infect a large amount of people.

Absolutely!!! Let's make everyone fill in their swimming pools, turn in their small engine lawn equipment and disconnect all their electrical outlets. Since we are completely trampling on the Constitution, let's go all out!

People die from obesity... could have been prevented

People die from lung cancer and COPD... Could have been prevented

People die from drug addiction... could have been prevented

People die from car accidents... could be prevented

People die from preventable shite all the time... As I said before, there are more than enough resources at your disposal if you truly wish to avoid getting sick. I’m not cool with wasting 6+ months of my life that I’ll never get back because people can’t be responsible humans and either protect themselves or live a healthy lifestyle that would make this virus a nothing burger.

So frick you and people that think like you.
