The funniest thing he ever did was call out his rapper son for acting like a typical gangbanger thug on a podcast or tv show.
" Why are you acting like this? What do you know about the ghetto? You grew up in a gated community son. You went to the best private school in the state. You don't know anything about struggle or that life."

I mean, there is a difference between the two in this country. Historically blacks have had to fight harder to be accepted as peers. Still do.
Difference between back then and now is that now they have to fight to overcome the image and stereotypes that are brought forth and championed by their fellow blacks to be seen as peers by other races.
There's a power struggle happening in the black community right now between low class blacks and regular blacks. This is why you are seeing a rise in black Republican membership.

Most whites do have thoughts about more power for their own kind. It just doesn't apply to race or skin color. It applies to ethnicity.
We rarely view ourselves as white nor we base our principles and support on that fact.. We view it as Irish, English, French, German, Russian, etc.
Our pride isn't based on being white, it's based on the kind of white we are.
Blacks would probably do the same if they had any sort of records of what their ancestors were.

While I and many others certainly still maintain a pride in where they came from and their associated histories, I don't think the goal for most white people, in this country anyway, is to grow their lot in life in pursuit of benefiting their ethnicity. In years past, when these groups were newly settled Americans, sure, but I think that mindset has been dying out consistenly over time. Much of this thinking was galvanized during WWII when many of these ethnicities began identifying truly as Americans first.

For the most part is a zero sum game. Irvin wants more blacks in board rooms. That pretty much means less whites in board rooms.
