Im fairly certain my first semester fee bill in fall 92 with a 15 hour course load was like $975

Tuition and fees? That would be 2200 today.
Believe tuition and fees are about 6k these days but we have TOPS today. Believe fees are 2k

My daughter is a sophomore at LSU, but we are local so she has an apartment. Adding a dorm to her freshman fee bill last year would have been an extra $17k. It was a hard no!!

Develop a scholarship-athlete. NIL will offset the upfront costs.

This is precisely why it SHOULD happen. Colleges need to be held accountable for offering garbage degree programs they know won't help their customers gain employment.

Nobody forces you to take out college loans for garbage degrees.

This isn’t a good argument against allowing college loans to be discharged in bankruptcy. Most bankruptcies are due to personal choices. Yes, even the medical bill ones.

It's generally not someone's choice to go into medical debt.

When i went to SLU it was barely a couple grand for a whole semester. Even then, i couldn't afford it by myself back then. There's just no way now for people that are doing it all on their own.

Explain? You get t-boned going into work today and have to have emergency surgery. Was that your choice? Your newborn has a month-long NICU stay and insurance doesn't cover all of it. Was that your choice?

Most people in hospitals are there because they’re fat fricks who don’t take care of themselves.

Read it again so you understand what I said.

Wild take. Pretty much everyone is going to spend time in a hospital before they die.

My daughters 6 and i started a savings for her. My niece is going to Swanee next year and my sister is trying to figure out how to pay for it.

Thing is, a kid works their arse off, stays out of trouble and has the chance to go to a really good school you find a way to make it happen.

Yea right. My son’s NIL deal won’t cover his car insurance.

A quick update. He got awarded the Stamps scholarship which pays full tuition and expenses at LSU. But then Brown matched the scholarship offer, so he is going to Brown. So proud of the dude!!

It’s $43k outstate now… at Alabama.

Love Bama, roll tide and all that.

But $43k for a state school that isn’t even top 100 is dumb
Well, you aren’t paying the fee for “education” purposes.

You are paying for 2 things:

1. The piece of paper they give at the end of 4 years so you can get an entry level job that doesn’t require college anyway, and

2. For entertainment.

Those large public universities will charge assloads because people will pay excessive amounts of money to be entertained.

That is all college is now, anyways.

Entertainment is the most profitable of global commodities after all.
