Tip daily, usually $2 and change in pocket. If you wait until of stay to tip, maid doesn't know that she will get tipped and usually doesn't go the extra mile.

Is this a new thing? Tipping maids at a hotel? I've actually never done it or even thought of doing it.

Not that I'd be opposed. Just never thought of it. Then again I usually leave my DND sign up for my entire stay, and just call for towels if I'm there long enough to need more.
