When I had my son my doctor said I don't care what you went through to have this child, if you don't want another get on birth control. He says it happens all the time that people randomly get pregnant after going through fertility treatments
Yep!!!

I understand; when most people think on unwed parents they think of trailer folk, food stamps and multiple fathers/mothers but thats not always the case. We (I) just dont want to get married. My 8yo son asked why me and his mother werent married and I explained to him that I dont belong to a religion so having a church wedding would be hypocritical. As for a marriage recognized by the government, no thank you. My truthful explanation was fine with him because he knows, regardless of a piece of paper, his parents love each other and love him and his baby sister.
Defensive much?
Wonder why?

No, not defensive, as I am not really defending my choice. I just dont mind talking about or discussing it. Some folks decided to call it trashy, which is their right, as it is my right to throw out an alternative to somebodies pre-conceived notion of unwed parents. Is what it is and I wouldnt change a single choice that I have made nor would I or do I expect somebody to embrace my decision.

Wife got pregnant pretty quick all the times. She was a nazi about tracking ovulation. Wouldn’t let me do anything without making a deposit. I was okay with this strategy. First was 4 months. Second one was right away but that ended in a miscarry. Third was 2 or 3 months. We’re done now though. Keeping man to man coverage. No zone coverage.

Waited about 5 years after marriage, then got pregnant in one month off the pill, two years later, again; but after only 2 weeks off the pill….had a boy and a girl, so all marks were checked, until 15 years later, European cruise( took the wife ) we were mid forties at that time, around our 22nd Honeymoon and still just on the pill. We now have a first grader and both well into our 50’s…. I will say, I actually enjoy it more now that I have fewer days left, so there’s that…

One shot and it happened twice. Was hoping to have to work harder at it.

2 years of actively trying for the first child, first try for the second child.

8 years. Had lots of trouble and we adopted at 4 years. 4 years after that, after we stopped "trying" and stressing about it, we conceived.

Couple years. Turned out she had endo all over her ovaries.
Funny part was when they asked me for a sperm sample... I made her go into the jackatorium with me and help. ...felt like the king of the world when they said my sperm count was five times higher than the average man.
Fortunately, the jackatorium had been stocked by a man with discriminating tastes, like mine. ...a whole run of Brianna Banks materials. I was all about her and those long legs at the time.
Really odd being encouraged by the wife nurses, and doc to go whack it.

both times were an accident..
first time after about 6 months of dating...got married and been together almost 18 years
second time, my mother lived with us for about six months in between house moves. About 1 week after she moved out we were pregnant again.
Neither time was difficult

She got off birth control thinking it would take at least 3 months for it to get out of her system. We were pregnant 2 weeks later with twins.
How long had she been on the pill? I'm getting ready to try soon with my wife and she has been on it for years. She is telling me it is instant and doesn't take any time to get out of your system. I guess it makes sense, just have a hard time believing it.

Hit bullseye on the first try for both kids. We are apparently great reproducers. Thank goodness for birth control.

Tried naturally for about 2 years. Then we did fertility treatments for about a year and a half. Two failed IUIs led to two surgeries for me and then success on our first round of IVF. Long, painful (emotionally and physically), and expensive process. Worth it, but not going through that again so one and done.
this was pretty much exactly my wife and my story. was told she couldn't conceive again, so any protection went out the window since there was no need. then she jumped me one day out of the blue and we wound up with a second.
