Babysitting at 13, summer between 8th and 9th grades. Someone trusted me with their newborn several hours a day while she was at work. Ack! Of course, the mom was only 18 or 19, herself.
First paycheck job, taught swimming lessons and lifeguard, 17.

A tornado hit downtown Nashville when I was 12. My dad swung by the house, said "Grab your tools. You're learning the family glass business today." 21 years later here I am still doing it.

My first full-time part-time job was when I was 15. Went to work for my uncle at his gas station in Monroe. Worked ten hours a day six days a week for a whopping salary of 80 cents an hour. This was in 1967.

I started an internet company with a buddy of mine and sold it less than twenty four months later at the age of 16. Didn’t know how easy it was to make eight figures in the 90s.
