pointing out facts aren't necessarily racist
The word has lost so much meaning because people use it where stereotypical or bigoted are the appropriate terms, but they don't carry pack the same punch as jumping all the way to "racist". It usually takes time and insight to actually know if someone is a racist.

Credit to him for not responding right away and keeping his cool.

Holy frick that was racist as hell. Actually racist.
Newsome should be excoriated for that comment.

Hopefully these folks on the zoom call can get the mental health counseling they need after such vicious comments.

The racism of lowered expectations
Why the hell would he essentially say, “I am just like all of you black people, I am also stupid and can’t read”?
That is just “racism”.

Over/Under on the total number of mental health days off needed as a result of the damages caused here?

Well, to be fair, the school is bad because they are dumb.

If everyone of these people came to my office to apply for a job I would take their resume' but never call them for an interview.
You can see loser in all their faces.

A part of me thinks she misheard or completely misunderstood the guy’s reference and thought “back” was not being used in a negative or racial beat down towards compliance context like it was used in Woodson’s book. She was using it more in the context of being taught properly by a good school or teachers they can figure things out for themselves without constantly having to be told. She was probably also talking about all the students at a school regardless of race not knowing what they don’t know because the school is bad, and she was not just saying it because the student saying the stuff happened to be black.
She was probably thinking she was being pro-black and implying that blacks are just being held back by the bad schools white people send them to. I just find it difficult to take the extreme view that she is that openly racist and meant the words exactly how others are taking them (how would she even be involved), but I haven’t read anything else about her past.
Due to black fragility she will never get the chance to fully explain that if the above happens to be the truth. If she is really a racist and meant the words as they are being taken then she should get whatever legal and non-violent negative comes her way.

I guarantee she sees herself as an ally to the oppressed minorities.

Facts are only facts. They have no basis to be racist. Only interpreted as so. Crime stats are the definitive example in America. They tell a story all on their own with no interpretation needed yet always interpreted as racist if a non black points them out(sometimes true). Blacks only take offense(name calling) because they cant dispute them. Doesn't change the facts.

If she had committed the usual " activity" of most female teachers in hot water she might qualify for probation.
