In Atascocita. Not in a shelter, in someone else's home though.

I think their best bet is going to a shelter. I read that all of the medical supplies like insulin are being directed to shelters. I'm sure Red Cross shelters will have that.

Tomorrow morning from 6am to noon the State of Louisiana is providing gas for boats to the Cajun Navy and other Louisiana based rescue boaters at no charge. Bring your boat and your Louisiana boat registration to the Lake Charles Civic Center between 6am and Noon Wednesday morning.

Is there still a need for boats in Houston?Have a 16ft boat and can head that way tomorrow. Trying to figure out where to go once we get there?

Yes. See my post right above yours from the Cajun Navy. I would head to Lake Charles and gas up at the civic center, then just follow the other boats west. I tried messaging the CN to see generally where boats should go, but they just had an auto message that due to high volume they were unable to answer.

On zello today they were asking specifically for rapid water vessels, the biggest effort is moving to north east Houston and the boats/motors have to be big enough to get through the high current on the river, as there is no other accessway. Bay boats/cabincruisers/inboard-outboards are especially needed at that area.

My dad's place is getting covered very quickly. He is near Pine Island Bayou. The house is raised a bit but he has about 4 inches in his shed. Roads are flooded and he cant get out. Has seen people leaving on boats. They want to stay since they are raised and have electricity. Can anyone give any info on Pine Island Bayou?'
This is in Beaumont off of 105
Edit: It looks like Pine Island Bayou near Sour Lake will crest tomorrow after going up another foot. He said the house has about 2 1/2 feet raise so he isn't worried. He said they aren't far from Bevil Oaks but the gage there is broken. I know Bevil Oaks was evacuated yesterday but they were not and have not been told anything but they are in a very sparsely populated area.
Is his house up enough?

Keep in mind those charts typically only forecast the river stage with the rain that has already fallen. More rain or releases of dammed water will alter the stage forecast.
Someone please correct me if any of this is incorrect.

Had a friend evacuated from Pinewood Estates today by boat. All houses from that neighborhood are under water now. Not sure how far that is from your Dad's place. It's off of 105 between Sour Lake and Bevil Oaks. Here's a video.

ETA: They evacuated them to Northwest Forest.

Anyone know if kingwood is under a mandatory evac?
Someone mentioned it in the other thread and the link in the op of this thread hasn't updated since yesterday.

I got evacuated out of my house in Kingwood by boat today. It was a huge pucker factor with the current. I have been running boats my whole life and it was one of the few times I actually felt a little scared of capsizing and I have been on the Big River more than a few times running duck hunts. Kingwood needs boats but they need big ones.
