Anybody, gotten word about that giant trailer park in Miami? Someone posted that it was the last one of its kind
Now you've got me curious about it.
Briny Breezes is the name of the place. It's north of Miami in Palm Beach County. I don't know the current sitrep.
I think the poster talking about it might have been tigerpimp(?), but I'm not wading through the last three or four hundred posts to double check. I think it was discussed on Friday, maybe Saturday. I'm not sure.

I'm just coming here to vent and didn't want to start a thread on it. I was expecting a package that shipped Thursday from Orlando. No updates on the tracking except "in transit" and USPS is useless as usual. Maybe my package will come in tomorrow and this post is unnecessary. I have a gut feeling that I'll never see it.
Damn. Now this is really terrible.
I've informed my friends and family via FB and everyone is praying your package makes it. Have you considered setting up a go fund me page?

My OCD kicked in and I had to start searching. The poster who first brought it up was HubbaBubba on Thur., 9/7. Page 353 of this thread. Deltaland was also familiar with the place. Tigerpimpbot is a poster who lives in West Palm Beach.
What the frick happened, if anything, to Briny Breezes, I still don't know. But I gotta tell you, I'm pulling for the old farts.

Don't know the inquiry, but this place does exist and it has been there since at least the mid to early 1960s. Southern Palm Beach county. Not "near" Miami. Probably about 50 or 60 miles north. Used to be a great place to fish and surf.

Another poster brought it up last Thursday, when Irma was forecasted to crawl up the Atlantic coast of FL. He was saying how much money the tenant/owner's had previously been offered and how the place was likely to be destroyed in the coming days.
Obviously, Irma came up the Gulf coast, not the Atlantic, but the weather got pretty bad around Briny Breezes. A poster tonight was wondering if anyone knew what, if anything, happened to it yesterday.

In central FL Publix is saying it will open every store that has electricity today. Ships are rolling into Tampa bay and gas is being distributed. Nothing was open yesterday.
Trees are being cleared off of houses and secondary roads. Neighbors are helping neighbors. Smaller churches are passing out ice. Larger churches are handing out ice and food.
I lost power at 12:06 am and got it back at 2:06 pm. The back 200' of my back yard is underwater. My house was spared any damage but dem trees....
Did anybody hear from that gump from Zephyrhills? Which one of you gumps drives a silver Toyota Tacoma extra cab?

We didn't need the federal government to help except to turn the power back on.
What did the Fed have to do with getting your power back on?

It got away pretty much unscathed.

Right on! That's good news for the geezers. I wonder how many hardheads stayed in their trailers.

Any update on the package? I could hardly sleep last night, between worrying about the devastation in the Caribbean and the families who lost everything in the terrible flooding yesterday, then the package on top of everything. Just awful.

Yep. Should be delivered later this week. Didn't make it out before the evacuation. Thanks everyone for thinking about me.

7 Million people without power. I hope it's some pretty damn special package that has us all just worried sick.

Straps doing work
Looks like my Publix is open. We never lost power or directv. The worst thing about the storm was that I had to stream the Cowboys Giants on Appletv because NBC local was doing uninterrupted Irma coverage.
Can't wait to get out of the house though.

Please take pics of said package and then report back here and post.
I'd really like to be able to put this thing to bed in my mind with some proof.
Thanks.

PRAYER TO SAINT ANTHONY
TO RECOVER LOST THINGS
O blessed St. Anthony,
the grace of God has made you a powerful advocate
in all our needs and the patron
for the restoring of things lost or stolen.
I turn to you today with childlike love and deep confidence.
You have helped countless children of God
to find the things they have lost,
material things, and, more importantly,
the things of the spirit: faith, hope, and love.
I come to you with confidence;
help me in my present need.
I recommend what I have lost to your care,
in the hope that God will restore it to me,
if it is His holy Will.
Amen.
