And I think engineers love to overcomplicate issues.

Sold a house to an engineer and he was the biggest PIA in the history or real estate transactions. He read every word of every paper he signed at the closing even though he had been provided all papers days before. Closing took 4 hrs.

Don’t forget that salaries for starting engineers have been stagnating for the last 10 years.

It’s not uncommon for new grads to start out at $80k. That’s nothing in today’s economy and COL situation.

What’s it like knowing that Bawjeet in Punjabi will be doing your job for a quarter of the money soon because all he will have to do is stamp the AI created drawings and calculations? And as a bonus he will work remote allowing him unlimited time to shite in the street with his family and achieve the dream of work-street shite balance?

size matters, suspension counts, and the angle of the dangle is proportionate to the mass of the arse, provided the heat of the meat remains constant.

If you ask an engineer what time it is, they'll tell you how to build a watch.

The engineers being turned out of U.S. schools on the whole are way lower quality than previous generations.

We went outside our normal suppliers / industry to have something designed. The folks we went to have a rock solid product used in extremely critical applications and boast unparalleled reliability and longevity for their products.

They would have to redesign their standard product to suit our needs but nothing insane. After the meeting, one of my colleagues said to me “there is no way these folks are going to be able to do this”. I said “come on man, they sell these things already.” He said “eitek1, the folks that engineered what they are selling today, retired a long time ago. The folks that were in that room, aren’t going to be able to do it.”

He was right, they were not successful.

Every engineer who designs cars and trucks will go to hell.

What kind of dumbass puts an oil filter directly over the frame or a cross member, so that when the filter is changed oil splatters everywhere?

What kind of dumbass (looking at you Ford), puts a starter INSIDE the transmission bell housing?

What kind of dumbass designs the headlights to require removal of half the front of the car to be able to replace a bulb or ballast?

I could go on but yall should understand.

All the issues you described are the result of accountants and marketing people having the authority to overrule engineering decisions along with horrible government regulations.

I'm not an engineer but I do the same thing. I read EVERYTHING. No telling what is hidden in documents.

Was said person supposed to just assume that nobody changed anything in those documents from the previews for what might be the largest personal transaction he ever makes in his life? Sounds like he's an intelligent person. I read everything as well and if I don't understand it, I'm not signing it.
