If vinyls are a hipster thing, there are three or four entire generations of hipsters.

Don't forget that a good stereo receiver is every bit as important as your turntable. I have used either my Marrantz 2238b or 2270 for the last 15 years. They are great receivers. They were 15 years old or more when I got them, and they have shown no signs of slowing down. I just have to keep the pots clean.

Is this what they call one of those acid flash backs ?

I might just have to pull the old Marantz and Awia turntable out the attic and break out the Beatles white album.

Someone let me know when 8-track comes back in style.
I got those too.

Best thing about having a turntable is being able to play recordings that have not been released digitally.

Would like to stay under 300 for a turntable. I looked at the one you have, does seem to carry good reviews . I will look at those others.

The people at Lagniappe Records in BR are super nice and may be able to help you out. They also have a better selection of vinyl than any store in BR should have. The only problem is that they price them at the most absurd prices that only someone who has never been to a record store outside of BR would consider.

I wish you had posted this 5 months ago. We donated a turntable and about 200 vinyls to Purple Cow in Baton Rouge.

Same here. I had an extra Beogram (Bang and Olufsen) linear tracking turntable that was really nice, donated it.

Ah , oh well. Someone is enjoying it I am sure. I already have a receiver and speakers and iTunes. But many say Vinyl is the best and it's something different. I have never listened to an old record and think it would be unique. Kind of goes with my liking of old music too I think. New radio tunes are horrible these days.

Wild pack of coyotes near Fred's attacked me and must have chewed my iPod holder off my belt loops. Didn't notice it until I got away and then it was too late.

My daughter boyfriend bought her one with integrated speakers. Less than $150 I'm pretty sure. Doesn't take up that much room.

There are a couple of vinyl shops in Shreveport but they are really in love with their inventory. Try antique stores or Goodwill for product.

Never asked my grandpa but I'm sure he has some records put up somewhere. Between you and the poster who mentioned Lagniappe Records in Baton Rouge said that they are high on price.

If your mixing. Your gonna need some technique 1200's. There is a few record shops in Nola. Your gonna find most of what you want online though.

Damn, I have a turntable, but I'm always looking to grow the record collection, with old and new.

You can't go wrong with the U Turn Audio Orbit turntable. I love mine and use it everyday. All the reviews have been great. Only downside is once you order they take at least 3 weeks to arrive, but IMO it is worth it because they are handmade here in the USA. I haven't seen a single bad review and there isn't a better turntable for the money if you ask me. Also it is very easy to add upgrades as you please.
