This is how it felt to me. It hasn’t happened in years, but it’s so bizarre. There’s an electric jolt buzzing sensation in my head, as well. I was aware of everything around me, but I couldn’t force my body to move.

My boyfriend woke up screaming a few weeks ago. He was dreaming that I was squeezing him like a boa constrictor, and he couldn’t breathe. I’m sure there’s an analogy for our relationship in there somewhere. Scared the crap out of me, since I’ve never heard him scream before. I kept nudging him to wake up.

I have it ever so often.. Usually with chills and buzzing noise.. Have seen stuff on the wall a few times.. Just figured it's a brain waking up issue..have saw shadows on the wall.. An example was what looked like an old black woman's face and I once saw a long striped furry tail on the headboard..

Agreed, and they have absolutely nothing to do with sleep paralysis. It's a scientifically documented thing. The mind and body get slightly off sync when you're sleeping sometimes, usually because you're overtired. Seeing the shadows and what not are from your mind being mostly awake but still slightly in dream mode.

It used to happen to me often and I feel confident I'm right with Christ.

I tend to agree because I'm never really weirded out after the fact..

I have experienced it more then a few times. The first time I dreamed I fell off a cliff. I woke up with sleep paralysis.

One time it woke up my girlfriend at the time and she swears I was speaking Latin. I had another girlfriend wake up while I was in that state. I felt this happen, but it's like something grabbed my right foot and was jamming her in the leg with my big toe.

There was also another time I experienced a friend have it. We were on an out of town work trip. I heard some very strange noises coming from him. I was petrified. It took me awhile to turn that way, but when I did it stopped.

When I asked if was alright, he replied with the gushma got him. Or something like that. We had both shared our experiences in previous conversations before that night.

I never felt that I was sleeping when mine would occur. It was just a feeling that an evil presence had entered the room. I would actually argue with this thing that he wasn't real and I was only sleeping. He would say, if you are sleeping wake up. I would say, I can't wake up i am dreaming. He would say, then where are you, I would say in my bed in my room. He would say what time is it, and I would tell him because I knew I was still awake. He would leave. But then a few days later, right at the time I would be about to fall asleep, I would feel his presence return. After several visits, he told me that this time, he was going to prove to me that he was real and I was fully awake, He lifted my legs up in the air and said, now do you believe, and I would say no. One night he came in and was very angry, he said tonight, you will know that I am real. He lifted my legs in the air and set them down. Then he said, now do you believe? And I said no. So he picked my legs back up, swung over 90 degrees and made my heels touch the floor. He asked if I believed him now. I said no. He said ok where are you? I answered in my bed. There was a light directly over my bed with a string where I could turn on the light. He said if you are just dreaming, reach up and turn on that light. I went to reach for the string and a hand grab me on my wrist. So I tried to lift my other arm, and he grabbed that wrist and had me totally pinned. I told him that he was messing with a child of God and His power was greater than his. So I asked God to give me strength to defeat this thing. With all my might i forced one arm up and grabbed the things arm that was holding down my other arm. His skin was cold and I could feel his skin roll when I grabbed him. I ripped his arm off at the elbow. I reached up and turned on the light and I was holding an arm. I threw it on the floor and turned to call out to my brother who was in his bed across the room. I couldn't make myself speak at first but them I screamed. The sheets moved in my brothers bed and someone sat up and faced me. It wasn't my brother but the being that I had just fought. He was old looking with white skin. His hair and long beard was solid white. He was wearing a white gown with a hood. He pointed his arm and finger at me and said, you better change your ways. That was more than 40 years ago and I still remember every detail. And I still don't know if it was real. And no thank you, I am totally sane.

The ultimate goal is to get into astral projection, which sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming are in the astral just not really true astral projection.

It used to happen to me all the time, and it never stopped being terrifying. I eventually read that you could use sleep paralysis to work your way into a lucid dream. While you are having the sleep paralysis, you are supposed to imagine scaling the wall. Apparently for some people, that puts them into a lucid dream. It never worked for me, but I actually started looking forward to the sleep paralysis, so I could try to have a lucid dream.

I am a lucid dreamer, it’s awesome. Sleep paralysis happened once, it was terrifying. When I finally woke up, slept with the light on. And I have some really fricked up dreams.

SFP, I experienced this twice in my late 20s and then never again.

I didn’t see ghosts and shite, though.

I was just awake and couldn’t move.

I think what you are dealing with is less sleep paralysis and more being stalked by a demon.

I sort of had one once, but it just woke me up. Apparently people who have sleep paralysis are supposed to be able to have lucid dreams more easily.

Side conversation:

I’m in my 40’s and all of the sudden started lucid dreaming several months ago.

It’s amazing and happens every night.

It’s always a gathering somewhere with people in my life or past like at the beach or at a camp or something.

I can recall it like a movie the next day.

I have many dreams I can’t move, scream, etc. Sleep paralysis is on a whole different level. I remember my dreams and when I start to remember one, others fall into my memory, like dominoes. I am also aware I am dreaming, can wake up fall back asleep and go back. I love dreams even if they are mostly scary.

thought i saw a dark presence in the door frame and when i tried to move, nada

there was no fear of immediate presence of the shadow person and i for sure didn't feel like it was on my chest (like i've read about a bunch)

after a brief time i closed my eyes and calmed down and eventually i thought i could squeeze my hand so i thought i could get up...nope. at some point i calmed down and passed out but man i hope this isn't a recurring trend

Had it for about 6 months in my late 20s. Probably 2-3 times a week. Bad times.

Scoop, usually the setting is more intense than the ppl. But when the ppl matter (strangers) I feel like they are important. I have googled ppl from my dreams bc they felt so real and seemed life changing

Dreamed my neighbor's pet giraffe was sticking his head over the fence, stealing our clothes through an open window in the laundry room and then hiding them on his roof.

Only happened to me once while stressed in college. Woke. Paralyzed. Being near my right shoulder whispering what I thought I recognized as Latin in my ear. Couldn’t turn to look at it (thank God).

Terrifying.

IDK, i might've had this happen once. Fell asleep for an afternoon nap, on my stomach and swear it felt like someone put their hand on my back. I remember shivering or something before waking. Was freaky as shite, i was alone in my apt, been damn near 20 yrs ago and i remeber it like it happened yesterday.
