I converted to the mother church 31 years ago. I felt called to do it, and I still feel that way. I cannot imagine ever going back.

Maybe God is sending you two messages here. (1) He is calling you to the Church. (2) He is telling you that you shouldn't marry this woman.

Fine one in your area and attend the Mass this Sunday. Or if they have daily Mass and you can make it that's great.

Observe others and don't worry about not knowing what they're doing or don't feel obligated to do what they do until you understand it. (but by all means if you want to follow their lead do so.)

When they receive the Holy Eucharist you may approach the alter but not receive the host. Bow in reverence to Christ and cross your arms over your chest to indicate that your are not receiving. The Priest, Deacon or minister will offer a prayer for you and you can return to your seat with the others. You may also stay in the pews for this.

I would say don't worry about your Fiancé right now. you go and see how you feel about it. We are called to follow God. If this is on your heart and you approach it with an open heart to God he will lead you. Not to say it will be easy, Following Christ may mean suffering. In many different ways but we are called to put nothing before God.

The Eucharist is by far the single-most important thing about being catholic to me. If you want to live your life the catholic way without the Eucharist, go for it and maybe one day she’ll come around and you can convert with her support.
This! I grew up Catholic but "went through the motions" for a decade. Had 2 experiences I couldn't explain (prayers literally answered after praying for years). After studying different faiths and the Bible for years, I kept coming back to the Eucharist. All churches can give someone a better relationship with Christ, but the Eucharist gives you life in Christ.

My Fiancé has told me she and I would be over if I continued. She threw away my Mass guide from EWTN she found in my truck. I cannot convince her otherwise that this is the way to go. I truly believe this is the only way for our family but I will lose her If I proceed.

That's a huge red flag if that is her reaction. Get out now, because this is only the tip of the iceberg and you will be in a world of hurt if you marry her.

So you need a visual aid to feel more spiritual? I get that the buildings can be inspiring. No question, it elicits a response. However, I would argue a humble building structure feels nearer to God than an elaborately constructed one.

Both of you serve the same God. There should be no conflicts here. Only ones humans create. No one has a monopoly on truth. This includes church.

Your relationship with God is within. If you are feeling that Catholicism speaks to you more, than that is your choice. And the wife should follow the husband, traditionally. But, if you are both Christian, then you are both aware that the blood of Christ is the whole point... then nothing else really matters.

We have all kinds of sandy country trying to invade here. Let us not allow some absurd power struggle between protestantism and catholocism keep us at odds. We DO stand together. Christians, that is.

I’d begin with the Eucharist. That’s the best way to discern truth from not truth.

You either believe that bread and wine is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ or you don’t.

Everything else, while important, is secondary to that main tenant. Once you accept the Eucharist, then you can start to educate and research all objections to the Catholic Church. Asking questions isn’t bad.

If you believe Christ’s words, it’ll lead you to Him and the body and blood he talked about in Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:19-20, and Paul's account in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.

No other church has that, but only imitations or symbols. Only in Catholicism will you see people truly kneel and worship the body and blood laid in front of them since 33 AD.

Of course, conditionally for me, a Catholic Mass feels more like the "right" kind of worship than an electric guitar playing protestant mega-church type deal

100%!!

Those mega churches that focus so much on throwing a fricking band up on stage are more for people who simply want to feel part of something bigger than for someone who wants to feel closer to God in my opinion. My church has music too, but nobody's getting near the alter with all that shite. Mega churches focus on all the wrong things.

No, I just don't like how Modern it feels. No history, just doesn't feel right to me.

If she is your fiancee, you better think hard about your situation before you get in deeper.

I really hate to agree with this, but I do. As someone else said, following God puts us all in predicaments of some kind and usually results in some sort of suffering. I do not advocate for a relationship to end over it, but if she is so closed-minded that she reacts to your desire for the Catholic mass the way you described, then that is indeed a massive red flag for what's to come later after marriage and once children enter the picture.

Thank you, It's not a megachurch by any stretch, just a new age Church with bands with 3 songs, and maybe a 30 minute sermon

You need to study the doctrinal differences between the two.

What is the Gospel that leads to salvation and eternal life?

Do you believe in everything Catholicism teaches and requires?
If so, have at it.

I hear you, but I would simply suggest not focusing on a structure to define your own religious convictions. Modern building can be uninspiring, for sure. But, it's what is being taught and preached.

A really, really good church is honestly pretty rare.

So, I would perhaps just change venues. But if the Catholic dogmas and doctrines appeal to you, then they probably won't stop appealing to you until you search your own soul. I would recommend attending and just deciding if what you are being taught, and what you are told is allowed to believe within that system is what appeals to you.

Find out the real brass tacks about what being Catholic means, and search yourself!

There's also the fact that Jewish Temple services of his time were similarly steeped in ritual and symbolism and none of that was the sort of thing that Jesus ostensibly railed on. If he really thought worship should be stripped of all of that, there is nothing documenting it.
