Why wouldn't you just let your insurance company handle this?

If there’s an associated criminal case (hit and run, reckless op, etc), deductibles are a very common item included in restitution, just as an fyi.

Lol at the ppl saying “get a lawyer” for a parking lot backing into with an uninsured driver.
No attorney in America would take this case.

I got the police report today. The guy that backed into me got cited for no proof of insurance. There’s no insurance listed for him on the report. What’s my next step? How do I find out with his vehicle information what company he’s under or not under?

File a collision claim. He’s not insured, can’t squeeze blood from a stone.

I don’t know any attorney that’s going to take a property damage claim for a fender bender

I’m almost 20 years of insurance, I’ve seen probably five people who’ve had full coverage.

Full meaning no deductibles so their losses were fully covered.

The only thing uninsured or under insured motorists is going to help with is if the OP had injuries, as far as his vehicle damage goes uninsured motorists will not help,

Depends on the state, but most have property damage included. Some you have to select that coverage though.

I agree. I bet most policies also state that the UIC is in excess of other similar policies you have and will only pay after those are exhausted. So, if you have health insurance, UIC probably won’t pay unless you are in a coma for 3 years. It’s a bit of a scam by insurance companies. They should explain it and make it clear that it doesn’t cover vehicle damage.

I was going to inquire as to if you PIIHB but seeing as to there was “body damage”, I will assume the answer is affirmative.
