I'm left handed in things that require precision and using just a hand, like writing, fork and spoon holding, scissors cutting, dip packing. It feels more natural to pick up a cup of water with my left hand.
I'm right handed in things that require power, like throwing a baseball/football, batting, golf. Cough, cough I hit 83 mph at the Houston Rodeo baseball pitching radar with jeans and a polo on.
I shoot guns left-eyed.
Being left handed was no disadvantage in writing besides those pencil holders in elementary school wouldn't work. That's about it.

I was born left handed , as is my dad.
When I started writing and throwing, they put the pencil in my right hand so I’d learn to be right handed

teach him to shoot right handed. While it is possible to purchase left handed guns, It sure limits the access, and shooting a right gun , while aiming left will put hot brass in your face
