That pissed me off when I worked in govt. if you wanted to talk to an old timer between like 11 and 2, you pretty much had to be at lunch with them or wait outside the shitter door. In some departments, most of our work days really should’ve been knocked out by 3. But the old pros knew how to stretch and look busy until they hit the lobby at 4:55 to tick off the last few minutes on the slow walk to the elevator bay. But hey, they were punctual!

You are describing govt workers in general.

Same. And I don’t brag about it, most of the time I curse about it.

Y’all are crazy. I’m not fond of this game but I’m going to watch it and then get up at 7.

If I had to get up at 4 I’d be in bed rt now.

Yep, I'd be in bed before it was dark during the summer. I have no interest in keeping those kind of hours unless I had to for employment reasons.

I get up pretty early when working, but sleep late when at my shithead brother in law’s place over Christmas weekend. He’s a Razorback fan. I won’t eat his eggs or bacon, my wife will make me a new breakfast and bring it to me in bed.

I work so much that I pass myself going to work on the way home. So I get up at 4pm and 4am every day.

Sort of. There are usually some decently ambitious people at lower and upper levels. The morass existed at mid-management levels, where lifers go to die.

Do you nap? Surviving on 4.5 hours of sleep a night is horribly unhealthy unless you're napping during the day.

work 9 hours and come home and sleep for a couple hours

I only work 2 days a week doing this and another 10a-3p Sun-Tues. so the other 4 is recuperation and time for family and hobbies...shooting competitions, hunting fishing etc.

People who brag about it usually have nothing else to brag about. I wake at 5 am because I have too much shite on my plate to not do it most work days. Having kids at two different schools is also a big factor. I am on drop off duty for one of them every day (school starts at 7:30 for both)
