I just put a 2" kit on a ford F150. For the kit install and alignment it was 750 now that was done at the dealer when I bought the truck but that's what I paid.

If he's not charging $120/hr he is to cheap. Tell that boy to make his money while he's young and show him how to invest it so he doesn't have to work when he's 60.

Hopefully that $200 didn't include parts.

Is this his full time gig? If so, he's not making more than side money. How long did the spacers take him to install?

I'm trying!

For instance, he recently did a 2" lift kit on an F150.
You mean a 2" level? $200 sounds about right for a 2" level

How much does he charge to toss on some truck nuts?

Wife’s friend cuts hair, used to charge her $175. She apparently does good work, always over booked so started raising her prices. It’s now $400+ for the same $175 service and she’s still booked up months in advance.
Needless to say, my wife found another person to cut her hair. She understands economics (or at least supply/demand) enough that they’re still friends and she’s happy her friend is so successful.
Tell your son to raise his prices!

I'm on Team Too Low, as well.

$200? Did the customer supply their own parts? Did he not do a wheel alignment? Does he work under the shade of a tree?

Not even appropriate pricing for a level. Parts, labor, and alignment will cost much more.

My nephew has been doing this same thing for friends. He recently got some advice from another small business owner that echos the sentiment of the board…”if you don’t have the time to do the work, raise your prices.”

He should raise his prices to the point of people complaining about how high his prices are. That's when he will know the proper price to charge.

I get a level thrown into every truck I buy, so the dealership does the level at cost...and it never cost more than $200 for a 2" level

The real answer here is a series of questions:
1. Is this a real business being advertised to the public and taking customers?
2. Or a shade tree mechanic deal working for cash on friends and families cars for some summer money?
If #2, take the cash put it in your pocket and move on.
If #1, there is no way he is doing anything for $200 and covering overhead for business licenses, taxes, LIABILITY AND WORKMANS COMP INSURANCE and the dozen other overhead expenses that a real business entails. People scoff at that shite until the government regulators come at you for back payments, penalties and interest.

$200?
Is that just for labor?
Can you even get a lift kit for less than $200? I mean one new tire would probably be more than $200.

No it's not. At all.

Bc I want my truck to be level and not look stupid with the front end nose diving into the road.

Of course, cause they sell you truck below cost...
