re: Is it just me, or do the 9/11 references seem way scaled down?

Yeah, I feel like this year has been the least that I’ve ever heard the anniversary talked about. There weren’t as many 9/11 docs on channels like History Channel, Nat Geo, and AHC, either.

Seems like there was a lot. However, I think the Queen's death overshadowed some coverage for sure. My town had American flags. My company did a memorial this morning and live streamed it.

Biden surrendered Afghanistan back to the Taliban for no reason.
Trump surrendered it back, Biden just screwed up the withdrawal.

Every President and its administration deserves some blame for this frick up.
Bush for making it a NATO mission and diverting assets to Iraq.
Obama the most for making campaign promises, kicking ant piles, tying the hands of combat forces, turning over a traitor for key Taliban leader, and emboldening the Jihadists throughout the world. The foreign policy of that administration may go down in history as the worst of all time, but maybe Biden might beat it. Either way, same assholes are now in power.
Trump had some shitty staff that made some dumb decisions, but it was pretty clear to the Taliban that a deal could be made, but if you broke it you were going to end up like Qasem Solemani, or some Pakistani enablers might. There is no way that withdrawal looks the same under a Trump administration.

People talk about this "civil war", but the logistics doesn't make sense.

quote:Yeah, isn't it interesting how we made a pact with the Saudis in the 1970s to save the dollar by attaching it to the exclusive sale of oil, and then when a handful of Middle Eastern countries refused to go along with the charade, we needed an excuse to go over there and "straighten them out" so the Saudis pulled off (or at least helped pull off) 9/11.
The Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11. The Saudis did.
quote:It's total coincidence that the countries threatening the dollar with the Oil Bourse were the ones we invaded, and tried to invade.
We invaded the one's who didn't have anything to do with it and stayed there for 20 years.
Total coincidence.

Because the powers-that-be aren’t sorry that it happened.

Not to mention the bush stand down order in tora bora, December 2001. They had OBL and decided to do a 20 year quagmire instead.
Then Obama and John Brennan et al armed, trained, and funded the same people for our Syrian escapade. That's textbook treason for those keeping count.
There are only two (major) parties today: The Stupid Party and The Evil Party. Once in a while the two parties get together to do something that is both stupid and evil, and that's called Bipartisanship. -Thomas E. Woods.
Stop calling each other pussies and idiots, and realize you're fighting each other for the favor of people that see you as tax cattle.

I’m in my 50’s.
Ed:btw, I completely agree that so much of the aftermath was a total scam..Iraq, much of Afghanistan , Patriot Act…etc.
but that day is burned deeply in my memory.

It was the first return that came up so I just went with in, but what about
BBC
Washington Post
Wikipedia has the details, abc, nbc, cbs, etc, etc.
But I am sure because it doesn't go with what you believe, none of them are credible. I would have to look at news outlets that will spin it in favor of Trump. But the thing is, he bragged about getting that deal.
Now if this happened under Trump, no matter how it really went, he will just say the negative reporting is fake news and that they pulled out of Afghanistan better than any country, including the US, has ever pulled out of a country before.
And like he said before being elected president in 2020, you can tell the people whatever you want and they will believe you. That's one thing he is absolutely correct about.

I figured the NFL would have the propaganda machine revved up to max capacity and noticed it was toned down a bunch.
