Vegas' largest trade events in Jan and Feb., Shot Show and Consumer Electronics Show, have come and gone. The NADA auto dealers event begins tomorrow. Hookers are on standby.

You missed the AVN Awards, World of Concrete and Shot Show last week

I was there around Christmas and it was packed

this has always been true
Vegas doesn't make its money from Bret Maverick and the Cincinnati Kid. Their profit comes from zombies playing slot machines
it was like that the first time i went in 2007, and the last time i was there in 2019, and all the times in between
i had fun there, but never while gambling

Consider yourself lucky if its dead as that likely means youre staying at a nice hotel for a fair price (unlike me at the heckin Luxor for $300 a night a couple weeks ago
)

Shot Show last week
If you're associated with the industry, you haven't lived your life until you've been to SHOT. Being invited and going to Range Day is like a lifetime of Christmases in one day.

Truth on them pricing regular people out. I've been going since there was $2 prime rib. A few years ago a Pina Colada by the pool was $22 plus tip. Even in Vegas it's obscene to charge that much for a drink that costs them less than $1 to make. Stopped going and probably never will again. Too many other places to go.

South Point is packed (some of the best odds on vp and other games of skill)

All the bachelorette parties are now in Nashville, Charleston, Austin, etc and guys are doing Bourbon/golf trips
Has there been a thread on this ridiculous shite?
A friend stepdaughter was in a wedding in Maui that had 8 fricking bridesmaids all from S Louisiana that had to travel for that and two weeks after she got home went to London for a bachelorette party.
I went to Southdowns and bought the fourth round of drinks for my party.
And yeah…Vegas is dying on the vine. 25 years from now it will be Detroit with sunshine.

Who hands Vegas 5k? I go 2-3 times a year and the total of 3 trips may be 2k tops.

Let me know when the War Table or Rock Paper Scissors Table opens up.
Fun fact a slot machine manufacturer actually made a Rock Paper Scissors slotish game. They even made one of those claw machine type games.
I never saw the Rock Paper Scissors slot at any casino on the Gulf Coast, but for a few months the claw machine was on the floor at IP and the Golden Nugget. I was sucker and played them like I was a kid at Margaritaville next door.

Vegas will be fine
People itt are worried about the tourists not Vegas. If I can get away with selling $18 water bottles, I’d be fine too.

Every one of these threads focuses on one section of the whole region. Go Downtown, go to Red Rock, Mt Charleston, Valley of Fire, Lake Mead, all beautiful. Go gamble at Durango or Red Rock, get out off the Strip. The Vegas area is fantastic.

One of the Casinos in Laughlin had WAR the last time I was there many years ago.
Better yet, it was single deck.
