Just curious, Can you not use cologuard after a certain age? Why doesn't everybody do it ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Had the Cologuard test at 50 and it showed no issues. Had to have surgery following colonoscopy at 51. Please have the regular colonoscopy. Cologuard only shows if cancer is active.

This age group is the first to grow up with immediate access to fast food and processed bullshite since we were kids. Get screened way earlier than 45 people.

This. As my doctor explained to me, cologuard will only pick up certain size 10MM polyps and up, and cancerous ones. But as he said, it will miss if you have some smaller than 10, which is dangerous, because if you have some at 5 and dont do the regular colonoscopy, then it misses those and they continue to grow undetected.
Curious is Moxon just never got tested? I did at age 45 and had a few small ones (less than 3mm) so they removed them. RIP to him...always liked his shows.

Colorectal cancer. Get your shite checked, gentlemen
Support. I’m 36 and had some abdominal pain so I got a colonoscopy a couple weeks ago as a check.
I’m all clear and no polyps or cancer but it was a scary week.
In your 30s or 40s, get checked for peace of mind and early detection.
It’s very treatable if caught early.

Family history. Been getting a colonoscopy every three years. Diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in October. That shouldn't be happening
Was recently diagnosed with stage III.Has not metastasized and no genetic markers but obviously very anxious. Will begin Radiation/Chemo in 10 days.
Very sorry to hear your story especially with the colonoscopies every 3 years.Very crazy

The commercial says it can give false positives AND false negatives.
So do they just flip a coin?
False positives are one thing, but I ain't trusting anything that can give false negatives. I got the real thing at 46. Was no problem at all.

Your friend, jizzlefrick, was being snarky about men getting colonoscopies.
I shared my story and pressed for everyone to get colonoscopies.
Your beef is with your fellow super soldier, jizzlefrick, and not me.

i think insurance companies should at least start paying for cologuard tests starting at age 40.
I believe they have a blood test now!

Not for colorectal cancer but they can for prostate but still not 100% ...PSA levels can be detected by blood work.

Do they recommend everyone get a colonoscopy even if under 45 and no history?
Without family history, Not as a screening test now if you are having symptoms (bowel habit changes, blood, weight loss, etc) it’ll be diagnostic purposes
Until then the recommendation is 45. It may change down the road again given new cases or advanced polyps they are finding in many younger

Blood when I wiped and in the toilet bowl, escalated more and more over a few years. I was in my late 20s and immediately diagnosed with internal hemmeroids (sp?) without a second thought due to my age. It would happen for a few days then go away for months at a time.
i’ve had this on /off for the last 10-15 years with no thought of it being tied to anything serious/cancerous
finally at 42 (couple years ago)i began getting nervous because it was happening more frequent and i started to get ab pain so finally got colonoscopy done
thankfully all that was found was hemmeroids, the minor kind
but it’s was a wake up call to listen to your body and not wait to get seen, something i’ve been especially bad at doing throughout my life
RIP James

Guardant Health a direct competitor to Cologuard offers a blood test called Shield.
