It detects circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) with 83% sensitivity for colorectal cancer but is less effective at finding precancerous polyps. It requires no prep, but a positive result necessitates a follow-up colonoscopy.

Colonoscopy: Remains the gold standard, as it can both detect and remove polyps.
Stool Tests: Fecal immunochemical tests (FIT) or Cologuard are often more effective at finding precancerous polyps than blood tests.
Colonoscopy and poop test are far more effective and reliable.I would highly doubt this blood test would have been effective in my situation but it is a step in right direction.

10 is too much, especially if there’s a family history of it
The current guidelines say 10 years if clean. 5 years if polyps found. I am not waiting 10 since my last. I’m paying for my own at 5 years at least. I have no known family history. I agree with you that 10 is too long for anyone.
Catherine O'Hara and Farrah Fawcett also died of colorectal cancer.

Currently 2 hours in to the prep for tomorrow morning
So far it’s not nearly as bad as people make it out to be

getting colonoscopies. I shared my story and pressed for everyone to get colonoscopies. Your beef is with your fellow super soldier, jizzlefrick, and not me.

PSA levels can be detected by blood work
Men, the PSA test can be added to your basic blood work-up. Please get it checked every year, whether by a urologist or as part of an annual physical. It may have saved my life - definitely extended it.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and pray you beat it! I have two family members fighting cancer right now!
I wasn't trying to imply that it was the gold standard by any means just pointing out that one exists and is supposedly replacing shitting in the box. I don't have an informed opinion on which is better. I'll leave it to the medical professionals to suggest which test is right for their patients.
My Dr recommended colonoscopy which is the path I chose.

Saw that Katie Holmes gave his family $500K for living expenses. Jennifer Garner and Alfonso Ribiero have also set up funds for the kids’ education and other expenses.

Well, indirectly, Scientology gave the family that money. It’s money Katie got to keep her from outing their golden boy, Tom.
A friend of the family also set up a GFM because he said the family was broke and facing foreclosure from paying for all of the cancer treatments
The GFM is at $1.3 million this morning
