People that don’t Waze are volunteering to be ticketed.

Side note. I pass by a house on the way to work every day. A deputy lives there. His other car is a Corvette. Must be nice.

I live in the area. They’ve been doing this for years it’s total BS. They actually got their jurisdiction changed to the overpass in Roanoke to “Help the Sheriffs Office out”. Again total BS

It’s LACE and no it’s not in their city limits. They are working OT or off duty hours to supplement their pay. The entry level patrolman salary is under $30k a year in Jennings. Don’t like it, don’t drive over 80 and they’ll leave you alone. And to the douche that said the DA said to write a check to the Sheriff’s re-election campaign... that’s BS and you know it. Once a ticket has been submitted to the DA it’s part of the public record and has to be recorded with proper procedures and they are audited very regularly after all the recent BS in other parishes like Lafayette, St Martinville, etc.

Running speed enforcement is always legal.
Set your cruise and listen to an iBook and quite worrying about it

Jeff Davis parish is a shithole. Got a ticket there once from a deputy kid. The DA told me (thru a friend) to write a check for the ticket cost made out to the sheriff's reelection campaign fund and he dropped the ticket
I assume that is illegal right? Politicians to solicit money for their campaign in exchange for dropping a ticket.
But it is pretty common. But some of these parishes are so used to getting away with shite, it becomes second nature to them. Some of these places do things that are no better than the criminals they are policing.

Cops pushing legal boundaries, never thought I'd see the day.
In all seriousness though, as a taxpayer, it's so goddamn frustrating they don't care about petty crime, but will one hundred percent give a shite about revenue opportunities like speeding.

Any O-T lawyers think there is a way of fighting the ticket/fine?
Should have asked the officer, "AM I BEING DETAINED?!? AM I UNDER ARREST?!?!?"
If he pauses for even a second, you're free to go. Works every time.

The a-hole useless Vinton PD is worse. Sole purpose in life is to ruin people’s day who are simply trying to go through. frick you Vinton.

You joke, but you should always ask.

I drive it every day. Better to keep it under 76 from the Nezpique overpass to Lacassine. If Jennings doesn't get you Welsh will!

Aw, Finally, I see a use for a 6 foot azzhole!
You give him a radar gun and park him in a police car beside the highway.

Not true. It is lace for the DA but if you get a ticket, instructions on the back tell you how to pay it and keep it off your record so it doesn't go through normal channels. BTW when I got a ticket there and it was a laser they were using.

I was on Google Earth to check the clearance of an overpass on I-10 in Sulphur and discovered the most honest Google Streetview shot ever.
Sulphur's finest doing what Sulphur's finest do.

You really can't be serious..
I don't want to use the word friend on here because the OT will tell me I have none so I will just say this..
So someone I know who was stopped in a north Louisiana parish one late Sunday night for speeding, who was then arrested (according to him, he got into an argument with the deputy an all of a sudden he is in handcuffs being taken to jail) then spent the night in jail.. And on Monday morning, the deputy escorting him to the court room told him "if you write a $200 check to her campaign all of this will go away". The deputy then asked him if he would agree to do it. Goes to court, she throws out the ticket.. He is given all of his things they took from him back, he was shown where to go.. This was early 2000s so people still had checks on them.. In which he wrote it out to what he was told to write it out to..
THEN was told that his vehicle was towed.. Which a deputy gave him a ride to where it was towed, had to pay another $100 to get his truck out.
So just like that the judge got another $200 added to her campaign, the tow company made a little bit and he left with nothing on his record.
