Folks like this are completely crazy. I can't stand being stopped on top of that bridge, much less chaining myself to it.
Just seems wild to me.
Remember when the Minnesota Bridge collapsed? Worst nightmare. Don't think it's as high, wide as the I-10 though.

This is exactly how I’d want to go out - mildly inconveniencing thousands of people

Traffic seems to be flowing both ways.

Use some decency and jump off at Francisville bridge so you don’t impede traffic

hopefully they dont mis gender him

Probably got tired of waiting in traffic on that fluster-cluck of a bridge.

The jumper better hope the truckers don’t shove him over the railing. I-10 truckers are ruthless.

They want attention before they die. So selfish.

Its getting a little ridiculous with news headlines and updates using words like "incidents". Its like they want to treat grown arse adults like children. If its a suicide, say its a fricking suicide, if its a shooter say its a fricking shooter, if its an accident say its a fricking accident. The general public and grown adults deserve details and actual information.
I’m with you.
You can’t even watch a good serial killer doc on YouTube anymore without half the fricking episode being bleeped.
People are at their all time pussiest right now. It’s incredible.

From what I understand jumpers (well potential jumpers) on the MS river is more common than you think. Someone I know used to work for a barge company near the bridge. Police officers would stop by from time to time on the night shift and he told him that when you hear on the news traffic is backed up but there is no report of whats going on.. Its a good chance someone is being talked down. He may have said that if they jump they don't report it.. I forget... But yeah. Evidently it happens more than you "hear about".
I have no idea if that's true. I wouldn't think it would happen more than 1 or 2 times a year.. But yeah.. evidently they don't report when its a potential jumper.

It's very disheartening to read the comment on threads like this.
People never get it until their lives are wrecked by suicide. I'm sure it's just immature people trying to get a laugh but I pray none of these people ever have to answer that knock on the door and have to try to piece their lives back together some how with many of the pieces missing.
If it was indeed a suicide I pray to God for them and their family and friends.

BR traffic twtitter reported that it opened 36 minutes ago. It says it was closed due to an "incident".

I remember seeing a video of a local barber stopping traffic on the bridge and giving a quick haircut. All for social media attention.
