Just eliminate welfare programs for able bodied persons.

All it has done is equalize the poverty class and the lower class. So the lower class has less and less reasons to work because they are stuck living near the poverty class people anyway. I cant tell ya how many 50 yr old people i come across who are on disability for some BS reason. People would think twice about having all these kids and no job if there were actual consequences. And people would work harder and be happier that they can distance themselves from poverty. People need to work and the government needs to protect us from monopolies. Neither of those things are happening.

That is supposedly what has been done. We will see if it actually happens.

That isn't who has work requirements now. It's folks who don't have children that are being required to have work requirements. Otherwise you'd have to throw someone like the Duggars off welfare and that's not happening.

You're speaking in early-1990s terminology.
Welfare was replaced by disability, which removes the "able-bodied" variable from the analysis.

You had these kids and cant take care of them. It's pretty much negligence.

I upvoted your thread before even reading your post. Should be a no brainer

The social safety net needs to be a thing but just temporary.

I don't have kids on welfare, buddy.
And I don't disagree. If you're pumping out 7-8 kids knowing you're going to be subsidized for it, that's some bullshite. I'm just pointing out that your comment in the OP isn't correct (about who is/isn't having work requirements now).

We have a piece of crap that married into our family, he refuses to work.
For years the State of Louisiana had given him some money every month but cut it out last year because he was eligible to work and had no disability or anything.
** he still refuses to work

Invite him over for Christmas this year and make him dig his own hole...no reason he should live past Dec 26th
