xactly, he can try to save the marriage all he wants but if it isnt reciprocated then whats the point?

You just make yourself miserable for the rest of your life.
I'm not saying he shouldn't improve himself. But even if it's a bad marriage, a bad marriage is better than divorce. Those of you who believe otherwise have been deceived.

He/they should work at making their marriage great, no question. You people are implying if he works it out it has to be a miserable marriage.

in the late 1800's - most men would re-marry and have 7 more kids with a woman 20 years younger than them

I hear what you are saying, but it doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Working for the marriage and doing what is best for the kids doesn't have to mean groveling. I suspect the boys here talking about pussification have no idea what it means to be a grown man.

All they can see is that pride and manliness are the same. They see macho or groveling. Absolutely deluded.

ounds fine on paper, but what if his wife is 100% done?

how much groveling should one do for someone that has completely checked out of a relationship?
Even if she's done, he can still fight. He doesn't have to give up. Furthermore, it doesn't sound like she's 100% done. My wife was once 100% done. But here we are several years later, happier, stronger than ever.

women are/do go crazy at times. And menopause may be a factor for the OP. There are many factors, always. But he can fight, even if he has to pretend, manipulate, whatever.

They have tried and she is the one who has given up. Why is everyone assuming he is the only one at fault?

No we are saying that why should he beg and pleasd to stay with someone who clearly doesnt want to work things out. I promise she isnt without faults and its obvious she isnt willing to work on her downfalls in the the marriage.

I know. I've had enough conversations with you (good interaction imo) to know that. My comments were really directed at others' ideas.

What kind of man are you to be providing marriage advice to anyone?
You don't care anything for marriage. If that works for you, fine. Do your thing.

But this man believes in marriage and has 7 kids to worry about. It's a game for you but it's everything for him.

So if the only thing you really know about marriage is that you think it's for idiots, stop giving marriage advice to people for whom it's more than hypothetical.
