Whelp you made me feel like a little bitch. Hope the 5 year old can experience many great things before his/her time is called. Prayers to that family.

I had them a couple years ago. My muscles were very sore in the area they were in (upper back) and my skin was sensitive. I caught it early so I didn't have much pain. It's different for everyone. I think I was 22.

Did you have chicken pox growing up?
Posted on 3/28/17 at 3:59 pm to GeauxTime9
I got them in November and had either a mild case or just caught it early. Didn't have the typical symptoms before the rash but went to the doc the same day I saw it. Started off with 60mg of prednizone the first couple days and backed of a bit from there. Also was on valtrex for 10 days. Didn't really have much pain, but just got itchy.

Is your in the classic "belt" position around your back/stomach?
I had a case a year ago and it was a relatively small area. It lasted for a few days and was painful but short-lived.

Bite your lip and go make out with a chick who has HSV-1. Yall can be sore buddies for life. Maybe your shingles and her herpes will sync up like women and their periods

The earlier you get diagnosed and on antivirals the better.

Had them around christmas. Still in pain.

Then the virus that caused it was inside you the whole time. It was simply dormant before reactivating. It will be a matter of time for me as well. I once heard though that reactivation of that virus was a byproduct of an immune system that weakens with age. That might still be off though.

It is from my back left side to my belly button. Only 2 small areas though. Its not like a huge band or "belt". One area that is about the size of a quarter and another about the size of a silver dollar.

My grandmother had them but did not have the burning pain that so many people complain about.

How old are you?

I had shingles last year. Small rash about the size of the bottom of a coke can on my chest which did cause some irritation but the worst part was the nerve damage that ran down my arm and a little around my back. The rash cleared up easily, but I still get an occasional flare up of the nerve pain when I get really stressed about something. Buddy of mine showed me the different nerve zones in a medical textbook of his and it just so happened that my zone ran across upper chest and down the arm.
