Kidney Stone Help

So I’m having my first kidney stone experience. Started Friday night and I fought it off pretty good but at 2am last night had to go to the ER. A couple morphine shots and a shot of Tordol later I was feeling fine. Them they told me it was only a 3.5mm and would need to go home and pass it. They sent several prescriptions to the pharmacy but only thing for pain is Tylenol with Codeine. That’s a far cry from a mainline jolt of morphine!
How do you baws pass a kidney stone?? Looking for some help here from you seasoned kidney stone passers to get this thing out!

Glass of wine.
Bottle of water.
Repeat.
Also get a Toradol script. It helps a LOT.

Lots of water and strap in. Not going to be a fun ride.

I passed an 8mm stone and a 6mm stone...12mm stone removed via lithotripsy.
Drink a shite ton of water, man the frick up and show that stone who's boss.
My big one actually popped out after a big sneeze.

That is small, but I feel your pain.
Go to the store right now, buy a whole bag full of lemons and start drinking multiple cups of 1/2 cup lemon 1/2 cup water.
And keep doing it. The citric acid in lemons will help reshape the stones and more importantly, it will help you pass it.
Source: Me who has passed about 6 of them and the last one was a whopper 7.5mm. Not a good time.
Also, when you pass it, be sure to catch it in a filter if possible. I caught mine in my office uriinal and fished it out with some pliers, took it to be analyzed and now I know the root of the problem, I've changed some habits and haven't had one since (so 2-3 years ago now) Good luck and drink the lemon water!

I had a 10mm get stuck and get infected that required a 6 week stent. The worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life was getting that stent out.

This is years ago but my 1st time they sent me home with a very fine screen. Trying to catch it when I took a leak. Went to work Monday, had to go to the bathroom, forgot the screen. Thought a coffee filter would do the job, WRONG.

Had similar emergency room experience. I was so exhausted though when I got my morphine, I started to go to sleep which alarmed the emergency room staff thinking they had killed me. Told them I was just tired.
One of the nurses told me to go home and soak in a hot tub. Also drink a beer while in tub to help flush stone.

Prayers for you. As another poster said drink lemon water. I have had a few smaller stones over the past 3 or 4 years. While a bit painful, they have not been unbearable. Since I have begun drinking lemon water 2 or 3 times a day not one bit of issue. Take care!

I had a 4.5 mm a few years ago and I could never pass it. They had to do a Ureteroscopy. Having a stent for a few days afterwards really sucked. I got a 9 or 10mm in the other kidney but it has never moved or caused problems.

Hopefully one of the medications that they gave you was Flomax which will help you pass it easier. Other than that, just non-stop water to flush it out.
I've had several over the years, and I even have some small ones in my right kidney as I'm typing this that have been sitting there for over a year. I even had one that was so big that they had to put a laser up my pecker to blast it, and had to have a stent in my pecker for a around week or two after. So if you have one that you can pass naturally, just know that it could be worse.

I’ve passed 4 or 5 stones. None were bigger than 2mm.
Every single one had me on the floor in the fetal position for hours.
Good luck.

I had to keep the stent in for a week. For me, that week was completely painful. They told me I had to pull it out on my own (I did) unless there was any issues or I just couldn’t make my self do it.
