Kids of the 70's
quote:My grandfather wore those every day after he retired. Dark blue, light blue, blue sear sucker. He had them all.
I was looking at some old pics of my Pops from the 70's and in one he was rocking the 70's one piece Jumpsuit...
They thought they were styling in that shite...
Anyone else's dads wore those ugly arse things...
He'd worn coveralls when he worked at the paper mill. Guess he got used to not wearing a belt.

I was 18 in 70 and NEVER wore any of that crap. One piece jump suits, Leisure Suits, platform shoes etc. were not part of my wardrobe.
I was more into boot cut jeans, pull over or button down shirts and ankle high work boots or tennis. For comfort and working around the house I'd wear bib overalls a lot of the time.

No but I did rock a very tight light gray Angel Flight Polyester pants/jacket combo!

my dad wore those all the time.
Said he wants to be buried in one and not a suit. He says heaven has enough people wearing suits, they need some workers.

quote:People that wore the apparel in the OP's first pic would never be seen in a leisure suit. The OP's second pic of the tight version is what a leisure suit wearer would try, and think he was cool. The first one is all about comfort. They were something I remember only older guys wearing every day.
I wore a polyester leisure suit
Fifty years from now, people are going to look at skinny jeans, and the ultra tight fitting suits you young fellas have been wearing, the same was as you guys look at leisure suits. Both were terrible fads that looked ridiculous.

My grandfather would have never worn that sissy looking one. The guy that said he wore leisure suits would like it.

My Paw Paw wore them. He even had a pinstripe one for special occasions.

My parents wedding photos from 1974 and aunt/uncle's from 1978 are hilarious. My dad and groomsmen wore powder blue suits with black trim. My uncle had a Nat X sized afro...he's white. My kids would laugh their asses off if they saw some of my school pictures from the 80s.

Free balling in one of those would be glorious.
No doubt. Plus, when you were at the swinger party, you just unzip that bitch, drop it, and step out with your dick swingin'.

My great grandfather wore one of those, but no one under the age of 50 wore those in the 70s.

This is what real men wear.

I’m a child of the 80s but I had an uncle who wore those every time I saw him. He was a mechanic and wore them to weddings and funerals.
I think MAYBE at his and my dad’s mom’s funeral he wore a shirt and tie but I seriously can’t picture him in anything else growing up.

I grew up in the 70s and never wore anything like that. I did have a sweet baby blue leisure suit with platform shoes I wore to church.

wore a polyester leisure suit with platform shoes. Wide lapels. Bell bottoms. Do not frick with me, I repeat, do not frick with me.
Are you a complicated man but no one understands you but your woman?
Are you the man that would risk your neck for your brother man?

Esteemed basketball coach Larry Brown actually coached in these during the 70's. I guess he had a guest star appearance on Hee Haw after the game.

My Dad... Yup... One day he was cutting grass and a pinecone hit an in ground hornets nest... They flew up his pant leg into his jumpsuit... He was running through the yard screaming trying to get that one piece bastard off... It was as funny in 1970 as it is today. Fastest I ever saw him move! Hilarious.

I wear one for serious yard work. Onesies are the shite... until you have to take one.
