That plant was Mexichem in a previous life I believe.

Hf is better stored in carbon steel tanks. At least at 100%. Once you add water and heat though, game over.

Still operated under/as Mexichem according to their Secretary of State filing.

Won't melt a break down a cast iron tub, one of the few chemistry mistakes in Breaking Bad but it was in the script...
I thought it was a newer plastic tub in BB.

About as bad as it gets. I once got a dose from a stray gas puff out of a rotating kiln. That was seriously painful and only a relatively small amount.
Liquid HF is a nightmare. I spent many years in many plants, HF is the only thing that ever worried me.

Jesse didn't follow Walt's instructions and put Emilio in a porcelain-coated cast-iron bathtub. The story was the HF ate through the tub, the remains are what fell in the hallway of Jesse's house in the GIF. The issue is HF can't eat through tub like that.

Can't remember the original name.
KLEA R134A was their product name in the early / mid 90s.
Original plant name was ICI.
(Greenfield constructed by Harmony Construction Co. / Turner Ind.)

Hopefully they got some good meds in that guy relatively quickly. They had to have know it was bad from the jump.

Worked with it many years ago. Unpredictable is what I called it. Always took a very careful approach

My dad brought home photos of an HF exposure (hand), some of the most gruesome shite I've ever seen. My understanding is it basically goes right through to your bones and neutralizes with the calcium.

Hated that stuff in college chemistry. One of the strong acids. Etches glass.

Yep. They use hf to make Freon.
