The most amazing thing to me is how few black / white interracial couples there are in Portland and Seattle. There are essentially none.
If you drive 30 minutes south of Portland to a poorer suburban area to visit the closest Wal Mart Supercenter you will suddenly see 5 or 6 interracial couples in 30 minutes.
I have no theory for why, but the super liberal white women seem to go exclusively for white men.
