no BS.

Although I'm seeing A LOT of price reductions on realtor.com lately. And not 1-2k. I'm talking anywhere from 10-30k on some houses.

Yuuuuup. Which is why the wife and I are getting an apartment for at least six months to let the market cool down even more. I've seen a couple with 100k-200k cuts.

I live in a 3 bed house right now that's under 1000 sf. I'm not gonna lie, I wish we had a master bath, climate control laundry and a bedroom big enough for a king bed, but we realized we had way too much junk.
It's even got a carport.

I don't see any need for more than about 1200 sf, unless we had a couple of kids. Even then, maybe 1600. And she works from home.

My boomer dad and I have a lot of disagreements about how much money we make now vs what he made 40 years ago and how far that money goes now vs back then. One thing we agree on is that houses have absolutely blown up in size. It's unreasonable.

Probably a good idea. We were planning to leave Boise altogether but made the decision to stay put about a week ago. We thought we'd need to wait until my income caught up by career progression, but buying in March is looking more and more realistic.

I told my wife that if the fed keeps hiking and we are both able to stay employed if a recession hits, we may be looking at best case scenario here. Rates will be high, sure, but the drops are looking like they are more than evening that out.

My home is 1,180 3 bed 2 bath built in 1968.

Master is 13x14
Office bedroom is 9x14
Spare bedroom is 10x13

I know most people love their big houses, but we fit fine in this house. Of course with the addition of 2 kids we'll have to move on, especially because one bedroom is my full time office, but with us + 1 baby we have no issues.

I hate the design trend that has seemingly made the garage the defining characteristic of new homes.

Storage space has got to be a nightmare. Especially when you start adding a kids possessions

Tell me about it. We're having a hell of a time finding anything smaller than freaking four bedrooms.

Just the wife and I and we don't need all that house, but all the housing right now is gigantic. The only ones we're finding that are smaller and in good shape/renovated are near downtown and the prices are ridiculous.

Is that garage bigger than the house?

I hate that style of house. I know that they are affordable, but can't we design them a little better looking than this?

Probably some DSLD shite homes. who cares

DLSD and Lennar are both probably better than DR Horton. But yeah these are production homes, and will be surrounded by homes that look very similar.

I hate homes where all you see is a massive protruding garage. Ugly as shite.

You’d love you some DR Horton homes.

And since the house is small, the garage will be used for storage and the cars will be parked out front. So the street will feel like an alley.

And there will be almost no landscaping or trees, since there isn't much room for them and that cost extra.

I'm not going to criticize very much. There is a severe lack of affordable housing in the US right now. If this is all what some can afford, then good for them and Lennar for getting it done.

I don't like the style very much though. Those little houses shaped like that probably should have been flats, duplexes, or condos with shared walls and lower maintenance costs.

I just sold an 8 year old Lennar home for 750k + We had a few issues that needed resolving @ first. But nothing major. Their "everythings included" model is pretty handy. You dont have to go buy blinds, ceiling fans, put in fences, upgrade floors or granite etc
