Get off my lawn mentality.

My family finds it extremely convenient especially for the teenager and a mother with Alzheimer's. I actually feel safer that my location is always known to my spouse. It's not about lack of trust or taking away independence, it's just really convenient to know where your people are. To me it gives my teen more independence because he doesn't have to check in with me on whereabouts as often.

Amen. I don’t care to know where my family members are at and if they’re safe when they’re driving somewhere.

Was it really "nervewracking?" It's not like he joined the military to invade Iwo Jima, he just went across town.

So I have the same reaction as OP. But a kid I know who wrecked his motorcycle and was laying unconscious for a couple hours was found via Life 360. So I guess we balance privacy with safety.
What kind of dumbfrick parents installs life360 on their kids device, but also gives him a motorcycle?

Or cell phones or internet or cruise control. Are we all soft for using those, too?

TBH your kid would probably be a lot better for it if you did.

having a constant need to know where everyone is all the time is definitely weird.
It's not that for most people. When our kids were in high school, we would use it if they were late coming home or we had one of those parent's intuition moments. It's not like we sat there watching where they were at all day.

Have you seen society lately? This board bitches daily about how cell phones and the internet have ruined everything.

You can tell who the snowflakes are in this thread that didn’t get whipped enough as kids and who aren’t whipping their snowflake kids enough
Once you get whipped real good you don’t worry about stuff like this anymore and kids who get whipped don’t need to be tracked because they always do the right thing

Yes. You should. Unless of course you yourself don't know how to read a map and just follow your phone everywhere.

Brand new driver, Interstate construction, down to 1 VERY narrow lane around a bunch of idiots that can't drive, where accidents are reported almost daily. I wouldn't feel comfortable driving in it- I definitely wasn't comfortable seeing him take that route.

Holy faulty assumptions, Batman.
He borrowed the bike and it was a buddy that tracked him. Happened on Highland Road in a rainstorm. His parents had nothing to do with it. Good people.

Man, just look at the comments on here and you'll get your answer for the parenting thread. "My son can't use gps let alone read a map" bro you definitely have failed as a dad

This shite is weird as hell right? What kind of nut job is okay with being tracked 100% of the time. Do people not trust their spouses at all anymore?
My wife wanted it to keep track of me when I night fished. I would spend most the entire night out. She was on point to make sure my signal didn't look like a heap moving nowhere at the dam end of the lake.
I know that shite reports my speed and fast acceleration back to my insurance company. I might get rid of it. I don't night fish anymore. And can't we use a Find My Device app for Apple?

Sorry for thinking his parents gave him a bike when YOU described it as HIS bike. My bad for reading what you wrote.

Our kids are grown and still on it. They track us more than we track them.

It’s your family bro, not the CIA
When your wife and kids verbally ask where you are, do you tell them that’s classified?
