I don’t disagree and have noticed it as well. I love it, but it just hasn’t taste right.

It’s a side effect of monkeypox.

What type of lettuce are you eating? Iceberg, romaine, butter, mixed greens?
I like the mini romaine at Costco

OP is spot-on. I made tacos for the family last Saturday and noted how odd the lettuce tasted.

Tell us as a woman how that felt.

Both stores for me, walmarx & Aldi both turrible.
Bagged or cut from head
We did buy romaine and chop it up, it was a bit better. But very weird taste.

Lettuce tastes horrible now
Why do people continue to eat lettuce? Standard iceberg lettuce has little to no nutritional value, and has to be washed thoroughly before using, as it's more likely than not to be covered with potentially life-threatening fecal coliforms.
Kale, Chinese cabbage and rockets are much preferable substitutes to lettuce, and are loaded with nutrients and antioxidants

Was it all at once? Assembly line? One guy after the other?

Oh that’s a Covid side effect.

Lettuce really has no taste to me. It's the stuff you put on it that does.

YES!!!
I've been wondering the same thing. Lettuce on subs in particular, tastes like it's been rolled in dirt when I eat it. Don't know if it's because I've had Covid, or something in the way they package it, but it tastes like @$$.

When did lettuce ever take like anything? It’s all about texture.

It’s GMO. You have to buy organic to get regular nowadays. GMO food tastes like shite.
