shite what next.

It's a Neighborhood WalMart. One year anniversary for the opening was yesterday.

Someone at WalMart doesn't know about the 7 P's, obviously.

They had to move him to the back of the store. Too many customers were complaining about his weird touching and stuff like that.

A new Wal Mart Express is being built in my town. It is located about 1 mile east of the Wal Mart Super Center and about 2 miles south of the other Wal Mart Super Center.

The other grocery stores in town raised hell. They said we're not opposed to Wal-Mart but we are opposed to a Wal-Mart on every corner.

This is great for the small mom and pop stores in those small towns.

I remember New Roads fought against the new WM Supercenter being built for a while.

Not so sure about that. The smaller WalMarts are having trouble competing with the Family Dollars and Dollar Generals, which got there before WalMart and are also causing Mom and Pop stores to go out of business.

Oh noes! This is the end! They are closing 269 little stores and opening up to 405 bigger ones this year.

Most of them are neighborhood markets in rural areas.

Interesting. Probably good news for Winn Dixie, Associated Grocers, Family Dollar, Rouses, etc.

What's ironic is they were trying to recreate the original WalMart feel with those...but their competition (Fred's, etc) is better at being "Walmart" than they are now. When I was growing up, they closed the Walmart that was convenient to build a SuperCenter 5 miles away.....that gave rise to Fred's, Dollar General...

Man by looking at that list I think Walmart was trying to make it to the Bourbon bowl and ended up in retardville usa.

Sucks for them. I guess they forgot the rule of thumb, you need at least 5 Wal-martians to every 1 Earthling in order to (have enough WIC/State-Subsidies) be successful.

...until they found out Wal Mart had a deal on land about 100' outside of the city limits.

In order to compete with the "corner drug stores" such as walgreens, CVS, etc Walmart decided to try to create their version. They just need to stick to what they are.. It doesn't seem like the best idea to open the "corner drug store" in smaller towns.
