Thought that was a bad thing here. Also it’s not like Houston has any culture either.

When I worked there, I commuted from Old Metairie. 29 minutes on a good day.

How is the Lake Ramsey area?
It floods alot. Downtown Covington is a nice spot. I'd stay north of the interstate so you're not fighting traffic.
If you don't mind living further out, money hill is very nice.

Welcome to NOLA north. Hopefully you vote republican.
It’s an awesome place to live. I’m partial to old Mandeville and downtown Covington, but there are a lot of places to look. Good luck!

Did you and the wife ever fulfill that threesome a year or so ago? If so, Mandeville will work well for the two of you.

You want to be south of I12, east of the river, particularly if you ever commute. This basically means Mandeville. Lots of good areas but outside of that traffic will piss you off at times. Honestly it depends on where you will work as there is hardly any bad areas (Slidell is the east shore IMO)
The Northshore is great, welcome

Traffic is not as bad as people want to make it out to be.
Our lack of culcha is what makes this place great, thank you very much

Buy a house in Lake Ramsey. There are a few posters here in that neighborhood.

Probably some transplant to "Nola" who couldnt tell the difference between New Orleans culture and the generic pop/Leftist horseshite that they pretend is "authentic" now. Probably doesn't even know that the Northshore has a ton of history (once part of the British Empire and later its own republic)
I'd love to live and work on the Northshore. Some great culture with less culcha. But it would have to be both. Crossing the lake may not be a "bad commute" but it's still a hell of one (for this area).

The northshore is an extension of New Orleans and part of the Nola metro. Tons of Nola influence, nola transplants, heavily catholic. Yes it has its own culture and the heavy Nola influence is a part of that.
