The LeBeau Mansion in Old Arabi was supposedly haunted. We got in there in high school and went to the cupola and it was pretty creepy, a window slammed shut randomly.
We snuck in there in HS and saw some lights coming towards us. Turned out being St Bernard PD. I think it was the first time I was actually glad to get caught by the police doing something we weren’t supposed to do, lol. They didn’t have to tell us twice to leave, that place was creepy.
Anyone who fished or spent time Down Da Road heard stories about a lady in white, who would hang out on the new road. I’d spend entire ride looking for her when I’d go fishing with my dad.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but isn't there one about a black panther?

Just about every school is built on an Indian burial ground.
And black principal had his head cut off in the fifties and hung in a locker, if you get the locker you will fail every class

This one originated in Portugal and worked it's way through most Latin communities, with different , yet similar names.

Watch this video, then scroll down and read the comments. It seems to be reasonably explained.

I remember it well. There were even arguments about the location of Grunch Road that at times were heated.
Was it, in fact, in Gentilly? In City Park itself? New Orleans East? Or along the shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Metairie where the remains of the Old Hammond Highway still showed in spots on the lake side of the levee?
This is why TulaneLSU should be given a reprieve, reinstated and allowed to post a “Top Ten Locations of Grunch Road”.

Huey Long’s “Deduct Box”.
The Fouke Monster of The Legend of Boggy Creek fame was seen in north Louisiana.
In Lafayette in the 70’s, people claimed to have seen a centaur on Cameron by the railroad yard.

There’s room for only one Willie in this state’s entertainment sector, and that would be Willie Robertson.

I remember this from my days at La. Tech around 1978 or so. We used to get beer from the Keg in Grambling and ride around trying to get a glimpse of him. Never did see the guy.

We got lost in those woods for 7 hours one night. My friend got chased up a tree by a boar. Found our way out at daylight and went straight to football practice to watch game film.

I’ve heard a few different versions of this. Some have the road on the West Bank - possibly Algiers
Back in the early ‘80s there was definitely a Grunch road on the Westbank that was referred to as a place where devil worshippers hung out.
