What nonsense. Coming down on individuals' and business owners' rights is apparently "progress."

Smoking is regulated. Same as drinking. You can't just serve alcohol in a private business without some government say so.
We talking about bars man

Quit being a pussy and just avoid the places that allow it. Your avatar is a joke if you consider yourself conservative.
I can be mostly conservative and still have my own thoughts on some issues, you know.

I will give you props for admitting you have fascist type tendencies without being a cheesedick and saying "I'm 80% libertarian but I agree with this 100%!" like that femme earlier in this thread.

I thought you had a right to go wherever you wanted without smelling smoke? So wouldn't you want them to ban it outside as well? Why is it cool to smoke outside but not inside the bar?

Wow
had no idea smoking at bars in Louisiana is still legal

to the fricks complaining about the law: your elected officials decided it is in the common good of their constituency. so crying about big government making you walk ALL THE WAY OUTSIDE AWAY FROM YOUR FRIENDS. you mean you might have to stand instead of sit outside in the heat or cold? you might have to lose sight of that TV pacifier or stop hitting on that girl who doesn't want to talk to you? and you call other people "snowflakes".
secondly, a person who can't even care about his or her own lungs clearly can't be trusted to show consideration to a bar full of other patrons. there are countless reasons to go to a bar. the main one is to have a drink at a public place. that doesn't entitle you the right to smoke. it entitles you to buy a drink.
thirdly, you're not being banned. you're just not allowed to do it indoors. a person's non smoking has ZERO effect on you. your smoking has an effect on them. you are in effect inconveniencing others through your willful action. if I stood next to you at a bar and screamed, cupped hands into your ear, I'm assuming you would either make me stop or ask someone to make me to stop. smokers do this to everyone within a twenty foot radius before and for minutes after their cigarettes.
you can't do what you want wherever you want. bars used to be a place you could smoke. so did fricking airplanes and hospitals. you can't anymore because people figured out that it causes more harm for the many to outweigh the convenience of the one idiot slowly poisoning himself to death. even my old man who has been a pack a day for thirty years understands that what he's doing is stupid and has the decency to walk the frick outside.
also guess what, Nancy? businesses face regulation all the fricking time for the public good. it's what ensures your fricking waiter washes his hands after he pisses, that your whiskey isn't watered down in the bottle, and that your mom or sister or gf won't be sexually harassed at work.
grow the frick up.

So you think people should be able to smoke indoors on their own property?
What if they invite other people over to hang out and watch a football game? Should they still be able to smoke on their own property then?
What if they're feeling so nice that they tell their friends they can bring anyone over they want to watch this game? Should smoking on their own property be illegal then?
At what point does a bar because "not your property"?

Bars usually like these laws. It keeps them from looking like the a-hole when they don't allow smoking.

You don't have the right to drink in a bar either. The business owner chooses to allow you to drink but can remove that privilege to you if he so chooses. It's his business, he is the one with rights pertaining to that bar, you have privileges.

I like how you used our exact same argument for non smokers and replaced the sides and think you are making a better point. Let both sides have a choice.

You're at a place where you drink to damage your liver. It makes sense to have different standards of health between a bar and a frickin hospital.
