I find Miami extremely overrated, and it's one of the most expensive places to visit in the US

As for Thailand, I’d love to visit there, but being 6’3” I feel like I’d stick out like a sore thumb and be an easy target, in a country whose language I don’t speak.

Don't flatter yourself. You won't be the only farang around.

Vegas is certainly not for everyone. It's strange in that it seems like 20-30 years ago you could find really good deals all the time. So, you'd think with all of the growth that those bargains would still be there. But, most of the strip is pretty expensive. I wonder if it's because only a few companies own everything. Anyway, I've tried to slow down a bit when I go there by eating some nice dinners and betting football, which gives you several hours of entertainment. But, it's easy to get sick of after two days if you're hitting clubs and at the tables all the time.

I love Las Vegas because there is always something to do there. I know back in the day, before the first time I ever went, you could get a good steak dinner for less than $5. It was all about getting you into their casino. But entertainment has taken over gambling in Las Vegas. The trend now is that more money is spent on entertainment than gambling. That has been the evolution of the strip. There is so much more in the big hotels now than just a casino.

You can spend the day starting out at one end of the strip to go into each casino and not make it to all of the casinos and not gamble a dime.

You can go to the shark tank at Mandalay Bay, New York, New York has a roller coaster, there are stores and different attractions in all of them. The Venetian has a wax museum. I am not even touching the surface with things you can do in each hotel. The Mirage has a zoo.

Then there are a bunch of places off the strip you can go. The mob museum. There is a museum that has the vehicles from popular shows and movies. Like the A team van, the general lee. cars from James Bond movies, I think most of them are one of several used on the sets. It's nothing huge, its cool to see. There is a place that has a bunch of different signs that used to be on old casinos, used in movies, etc.

If you are there in the summer you can pick the type of pool you want to go to.. Like Mandalay Bay has a beach.. You can just hang around and drink.. Everyone has a show in Las Vegas. So there is always a concert, a famous comedian, etc you can go see. Now they have a NHL team, a WNBA team and starting this year will have an NFL team... And from what I understand UNLV is investing more into their football team..

There is a CBB tournament there in late November. its one of the sites for the NBA summer league. There is the huge rodeo in December if that's your thing. The porn awards are held there once a year.. There is just always stuff going on. And you are right, it isn't for everyone. It does seem like its a love or hate type place, but one thing it doesn't lack are things to do.. That doesn't include gambling.

Growing up catholic, I was excited to see the Vatican. It was a nice but everything is so commercialized that it doesn’t even resemble a place of worship.

To answer this question.. If you consider it a vacation spot. I say L.A. I have only spent one night there, didn't get to do all that much. I am sure if you are younger.. Or at any age and like to go to clubs it is probably fun.

And the sports fans there are some flip flopping sons a bitches. This dude doesn't represent everyone in LA obviously, but this was mid 00s when USC had Reggie Bush, Matt Linart, Brian Cushing.. Clay Mathews. I was talking with a dude from L.A. who came to Louisiana to be with family for awhile.. Anyway, I remember talking sports and this dude told me "I am a huge USC fan".. Then later says "Well I am a huge USC football fan, but UCLA is my college basketball team".. But in awhile, that seems to be the mindset of L.A. It's all about being trendy.

There is no identity.. Its just whatever is in at the time is the thing to do..

I like Vegas, but I did things that were outside of town. You can go to red rock canyon, valley of fire, Hoover dam, Cali, Arizona and Utah within a short drive. We usually didn't go to Vegas until the evening. Don't stay at the stratosphere end tho,......
Miami is very overrated to me. I would rather go to the gulf side any day.
Maine was a big waste too. Michigan has better scenery

The whole state of Florida: Disney (just freaking sucks), Miami, Key West. Very expensive, glad I made it to south Florida though. I like the Destin area.
