Canada, Costa Rica and France (St Maarten) would be high on my list

Argentina has a unique accent in their Spanish. I think it may have been because of Portuguese influences maybe. I met a couple in Costa Rica and we hung out the whole weekend. Never been to Argentina but after meeting them peeps is been on my bucket list.

Stay far away. Very high cost of living, and how the government there handled Covid should scare the shite out of you.

I moved to England, and lived there nearly a decade.

Their PM was in DC recently. There was a video I saw of her coming out of a restaurant and talking to random people unmasked. I did a double take on that

One of the most important considerations is health care. A lot of older folks would love to move to some Central or South American country and live by the beach. But, health care cost and availability prevent them from doing this. If you have any sort of health condition (like a heart issue), you'll need to move to a place where the nearest hospital has the doctors and equipment to help you. Very few of these affordable beach paradises have any sort of facilities that someone with a serious health condition would need.
And, for younger people the health cost may be prohibitive.
You should do quite a bit of research on whatever country you're considering.

Costa Rica is now on my list. Cost of living is low and I heard great things about the country. Tickets are cheap to fly there as well, so I'd want to go visit before I make a decision to move anywhere.

Portugal has been on my radar as well. Maybe Ireland too?

Moving to another country
Seems more and more like a good option now.
What would be a country of choice for you guys if you were to move?
honestly, russia
yes it has issues and freedom restrictions, but you are 100x more free there then you are here today, and you are free from the purple haired freaks and trannies being in power, they dont play that shite in russia
now serious answer, belise is english speaking, relatively cheap to live there, property is cheap by comparison to america, you wont get attacked killed or be targeted just for being american, and the climate and living conditions are great. the biggest negatives are getting things takes time and people there are very laid back so doing construction or getting materials delivered or any work done there is a chore and takes a long time.

New Zealand comes up over and over on these threads. Spectacular scenery, great quality of life, and no snakes. However, their politics would be anathema to many on this site. Strict gun control, socialized medicine and extreme COVID lockdowns, for starters.

Some of you don’t seem to understand the catastrophic impact the collapse of the US will have on the rest of the world. I don’t recommend being in these countries when that happens.
